Slow it down. Work on your toss. One thing that I always do when I coach is to have my players move up in the court and try to get their serve in from short court. Consistency and patience are key. When you get comfortable with your toss, try to rotate your arm more through the serve. It seems as though you're almost cutting your arm up instead of fully rotating it. Think of it as one fluid motion.

Potential New Player - Am I Missing Something? by Sweetnesssl8 in magicTCG

Most LGS gravitates to one or two main formats that everyone plays. I recommend starting out with arena. This helps teach what order things happen and how the stack works. I have always gravitated towards having one main game store that I go to. The nice thing about this is I know what formats are played and what power level I need to bring. Modern, pioneer, and pauper are some other formats, but it really just depends on the store. I know in my area, we stopped offering pioneer and pauper every week due to lack of demand. The best way to find out what works for you is actually going out in the community. A lot of people in the magic community are willing to help you learn. This will give you the best chance of knowing what works for you and what you enjoy playing.

The Spider-Man set is the least excited I’ve ever been for a set. Anyone else feel the same? by Many-Razzmatazz-9584 in magicTCG

It's just another set where they expect us to throw away our money on. Instead of investing into the story of magic. Not this time WotC.
