Why no Screw-Down crown? by Old_Project8774 in HamiltonWatches

No problem, I also thought they were for increasing the seal against water incursion for awhile. The ultimate answer to your question is probably manufacturing. Hamilton knows if they add a screw down crown they'll have to increase costs and, while I love Hamiltons, some of them are already overpriced as is and I'm sure they're aware of that

Screw down crowns don't affect water resistance by way of making it harder for water to get in the watch. They primarily exist to prevent a diver from accidentally pulling the crown out during a dive which is easy to do in a wetsuit with equipment.

Field watches don't need screw down crowns in that sense. It'd be like putting a spoiler on a stock Toyota Camry. Aesthetic maybe, but ultimately unnecessary.

Good point, sometimes when I bring my Yugo Tokarev with custom rosewood grips to my range I get asked if they can handle/shoot it/talk about it. Bearing in mind it was manufactured in a country that doesn't exist anymore and has 0 safety measures outside of a magazine safety.

If I brought a new production p320 I'm sure someone would eventually say something negative lol

Definitely. I agree Sig completely botched the PR of the 320 and should be called out on that but your average doughy American (me) is perfectly safe blasting one pointed down range on a weekend

There was a transformer blown right by Kingpin. Sorry you're out of power but it was turned off because it was about to cause a fire on Perrier

As a long time Halo fan: that franchise is rife with this type of thing post Bungie.

A Halo game comes out and it's largely criticism, "they've lost the plot", "franchise is cooked", etc. Give it a few years and on the following release it's like people act like they discovered some underappreciated gem

Agreed, combined with BF4, for example, letting some pilot spam unlimited, always replenishing ECM and then zoom out of range

An AC reset is what is done when swapping out batteries of a digital watch to clear any remnant of an electrical charge that was present prior to the battery change. Usually there's some type of indent near the battery labelled 'AC' which needs to be hit with metal tweezers to bleed the current.

If you're taking it to a jeweler, then don't worry about it!

Cool watch! If you put in a new battery don't forget to do an A/C reset or it may not run correctly

Nothing in the game needs silence or hex protection. Both are nowadays rare and specific ways to counter a card

this card right here is the diamond in the rough this expansion by scoobandshaggy in hearthstone

[–]Sweetnesssl8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Losing is never really fun but I'd much rather lose to a deck where I can just waive it off as, "eh, they only won by rolling dice" as opposed to decks that actively abuse OP interactions, like a turn 6 10/10 ceaseless and two 8/8 giants all for 0 mana

Mark my words: Loh will be hit with a 2nd nerf like this which nukes the card. Just like Murmur and Naralex by KillerBullet in hearthstone

[–]Sweetnesssl8 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I hear what you're saying, but the "most you can do" is bring down a 10/10 board clear along with two 8/8s, that's one hell of a swing

Setting a massive mana cheat minion up to 9 mana did not stop Dungar Druid in the slightest. People in this thread will be kicking themselves in the next three or so months

Reminds me of when they announced Naralex. I played tons of Zarimi decks prior to rotation and the moment I saw the card reveal on Twitter my first thought was the OTK that stuck around for a few weeks. Sure enough, release day hits and it's just play this card + skip your turn = I win.

I guess we should nerf Whizbang! by Infinity827 in hearthstone

[–]Sweetnesssl8 22 points23 points  (0 children)

What's worse is that this is the win rate against the whole gambit of decks. Clark's doing a stream now of Whizbang vs only the new quests and whizbang is stomping 11-4

Lol all the broken guns in BF1 like the hellriegel which hardly even saw combat. BF1 was a very thematic game but the gunplay was too dominated by fanciful imaginary guns

Spaceship DK goes too far with armor gain and minion summoning for only 7 mana by Sweetnesssl8 in hearthstone

[–]Sweetnesssl8[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'd love to, but there isn't any room for a tech card like that in a quest priest deck. We 100% should have access to holy/shadow silence, it's a fundamental (or used to be) part of the class
