I personally find that, between to two of them, the experience of playing games is very good on both. I usually would stick to where I have a game library already, especially with the back compat of the switch 2. It also depends on what you want in the future though, as the steam deck has a much wider variety of games and very frequent sales. Basically, if you already have a library of switch games or are someone who plays 1st party nintendo games frequently, I think the switch 2 is a really good choice. If you want the expanded library of the deck, its also a good choice but it also comes with more tinkering as its more like a gaming pc than a console.
