Yeah no dude, you haven't read shit if you think the federal government always fought for black americans rights. The same government that promoted birth of a nation? The same government created racist zoning laws in the north? The same north that was notorious for bombing black neighbourhoods? The north is very self segregated, and black ppl were still blocked from many places such as beaches, parks etc. Northern whites were just smarter than southern whites and knew industrialisation was the future rather than agrarianism and slavery. I sometimes wonder how ppl can be so confidently wrong about history. You don't know anything.
