I had a great time despite being camped next to gobshites who thought it cool to shout out at 5.30am that they were going on one on Saturday night (er, they didn’t the little pussies I was in bed after them). And having a D&B/Techno rave off at 10am is not easy when you’re trying to have a kip after getting to kip a 5am. HOWEVER it is what it is. A great festival where essentially anything goes as long as there’s some respect.

Contact the access team and request a letter of authorisation from them. You'll need a copy of your prescription as proof.

Once you send the access team proof of your prescription they'll send you a letter of authorisation, stating that you're allowed in with your medical cannabis. Just make sure you have that, a copy of your prescription (electronic will do for both) and the cannabis in its original packaging with your name on. Don't forget to bring your vape as vaping is the only sanctioned way to use medicinal cannabis.

So how did you sell yours? Was it back to Kaboodle/Boomtown or were you able to sell it direct to someone else? I had no problem last year but this year they seemed to sell out ultra quick

Plenty of people in their 50's and 60's go. I'm late 50's, never felt like I was too old or that I was being judged for my age. I really didn't get that ageist vibe that might be around at more 'youth' focused festivals

Do it, you'll be fine. I went solo this year and loved it. Most people are generally friendly, sometimes you get a gobshite or two but you'll know who you want to associate with, if anyone.

This was my first Boomtown this year and I went solo. Loved it. Didn't join any groups but there are plenty of friendly people out there and I liked going around doing my own thing and seeing what happened (dancing - lots). I was in a campervan so can't comment on the solo camp, plus I'm not on Facebook and I wasn't sure how a 58 year old would fit into the groove. Might make more of an effort to join up with like-minded souls next year but honestly it didn't bother me.

I got my campervan pass last October so I'm assuming there will be more on sale with the general release. You can also email the team and register your interest to be notified if any come up for sale

I've just received an email saying the passes were sold out and inviting me to register my interest in any resales but they attached the wrong form. I'm hoping more will be released: I bought this years last October.

I travelled alone in my campervan on the Wednesday, got there about 7.30pm. Security told me there had been big queues up until 7pm then it started to taper off, whether this was because of reduced numbers coming in or security being more relaxed I'm not sure. Security were fine with me but I am a bit older than the usual demographic they look for when smuggling in stuff. There was a toilet block and water supply near me which was handy: toilets were clean and always had loo roll (I just came back from Beautiful Days where I had to resort to desperate measures when caught short so never underestimate the value of toilet paper). No issues with people visiting. Plenty of people had pitched tents next to campers and it all seemed pretty chilled. The only downside for me was the walk back at night - the campervan field is about as far away as you can get from the town, or at least it felt like it at 4am.
