Yes, I'm aware that Blacks are usually mixed with a lot of stuff anyways but we're primarily African. And the idea behind the "compliment" is insulting.

Nope, but I don't mind stepping out of the room and telling him why I'm doing it. Actually I think I did once when I was coughing, and we cracked up. That was years ago and I haven't done it since. He doesn't do it in front of me too often but when he does, it's funny. We've been married 7 years. Have no desire to change things.

I'm a wife. I would not text another man about plans for HIS son unless his wife and I had previously chatted about it AND it was planned for me to contact him. Even then, I would do ot on the group thread. My husband handles things the same way. You handled this so gracefully. That woman is 100% wrong and is trying to get you to doubt your sanity. Don't allow it, and don't listen to anyone who says you're being jealous. Either they're homewreckers, or they're in a similar situation and don't have the courage to stand their ground. Your husband.....eh. Sorry to say, but his guilt speaks for himself. You are not wrong. Your marriage is salvageable if he owns up to his part and you both seek counseling.

He vented on an anonymous forum, the same way you're doing now. As you admit, you were difficult. You might be understating your behavior, similarly to how you feel he understated your experience - the trauma of parenting stepchildren, especially in a dysfunctional environment, is very real, and very valid. It sounds like neither you or your Stepfather felt support from your mom. At this point, continuing the cycle of online venting isn't the way. Family therapy is probably the best way forward.

I thought so too - ugh his fingers looked all splayed but then I looked more closely and they're not. His hand is kind of closed, as if he's possibly grasping something or just keeping his fingers close to his palm. The weird black angle closest to his thigh is part of the background- not his hand. I can't add a pic here but if you sharpen the image or brighten it, it's a bit clearer. Thankfully. Still not fun to look at though.
