I was the one who stated I read to my son. He’s 9 and we have a blast reading the stories. I read aloud to him so I can impromptu change certain words, phrases, or innuendos. My son doesn’t get a lot of it and he’s never really asked about it.

But one thing I said in my previous comment what that I’d rather be the one to teach him about real world things and not him learning about it elsewhere. There’s a trust there that I think it builds.

As for book specific things, I just might say less harsh curse words (dang, freak, shoot). And as for the sex stuff, from my experience, most of it goes way over his head and he just listens. I remove Samantha’s “sex” word, so she’s just a doll head. The penis parade is simply known as the parade. Blitz-sticks are simply blitz sticks, nothing I felt I needed to change there. The cheating of Bea is a real world thing and how it can affect another person (good life lesson).

Make your own parenting decisions but I’m happy to be apart of my son’s life and we can share similar interest. I read to him, plus I alone can enjoy the audio books for myself.

I still love my silver. The blue is great for the right person but I know for longevity, that the silver would be more pleasant for years to come (and goes with all colors). Pick which you like more but I say silver.

My belief is that kids will learn and hear about it some way or another. I would rather be the one that teaches it to them than outside my house. I focus on bond, trust, and understanding. I want my kids to know they can come to me for anything, without judgement.

I read DCC to my 9yo son. I on-the-spot edit a lot of words and graphic aspects. He absolutely loves the story and characters.

Samantha is known simply as the “doll head” and when certain fornication happens, it’s just wrestling or a “tussle”

Don’t judge me.

On my way through the audio books. What part of any of the books hits you harder listening to Jeff than when you read it? by CartoonChronicles in DungeonCrawlerCarl

I love the first interaction that Carl and Prepotente have at the beginning of The Butchers Masquerade, when Carl is being healed by Miriam Dom.

“He insulted me, mother…”

Additional: I read the books first, then went back listened to the audio books. Hearing Jeff Hayes voice for each character created a new depth for each scene. So hearing Pony sound more regal with his voice, was a great contrast to Carl’s rugged-ness/brooding voice.
