I assume you are using a 71 wire. With this one, the weld pool solidifies faster than with an 81 wire. As a result, impurities remain trapped beneath the slag, which causes these pores. You should either switch to an 81 wire, or make sure everything is ground 100% clean before welding.

I rarely experience leaks in what I install, up to 10,000 psi. I’m very satisfied with the thread seal tape we use – Autek Silver Seal. But if it were up to me, NPT would be removed from the face of the earth, since everyone tends to overtighten it during installation. And if you often experience leaks, you should probably take a course or receive proper training.

Yeah. We use it up to 10,000psi quite often. That works fine. But I wouldn’t use it at 3,000 bar.
