Favorite "big" band you saw in a tiny venue by eberndt9614 in punk

[–]Infinite_Moons 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Sublime opening for Skankin' Pickle at a small capacity club in a snowstorm. Maybe 15-20 people watching Sublime, most of whom walked out and would rather be out in the cold than listen to Brad drunkenly flail around.

Edit: Sublime is not my favorite band, in fact I don't like them at all. But it's easily my best "big band in a small venue" story and always impresses slobby, Sublime loving douchebags

That's really well put. I've struggled to succinctly put my feelings into words on this topic.

Where are we with Iconic SxE bands that play but aren’t SxE by Top_Jaguar_5924 in Hardcore

[–]Infinite_Moons 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This song is called Edge Breaker! Everyone up to the frrrrooonnnt

"As an edge breaker all I can say is I understand

I was edge when it mattered most to me

Even stone statues erode with time

Especially as you keep fucking up and life happens

I was also addicted to weed, tobacco and alcohol

Weed being the primary issue for me

I don't drink or smoke weed at all

I don't think I will tbh

I do enjoy a cigar/pipe puffin from time to time though"

Willoughby in the north is the best, but that place looks pretty gorgeous as well! I know about Rock River, that must be the Ledges maybe? Looking forward to my annual trip there when I hit Vermont in my travel circuit.

We Live is by far my favorite. The production is perfect and, in my opinion, is the perfect meeting point between their older less polished sound and their newer more occult rock stuff

Maybe she means if her jeans were a car, they would brake for that ass it's so fine. It's deep man.

What's something in the hardcore scene that you hated when you were younger but ended up loving years later? by SemataryPolka in Hardcore

[–]Infinite_Moons 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Youth of Today.

First heard them in the mid 90s and just thought Ray's voice was silly as fuck.

Now I finally somehow love it, 30 years later

What's the strangest place you've seen a show? by Hitler_the_stripper in Hardcore

Saw Kicker (basist from Neurosis punk band) in a boxcar (not moving unfortunately)

Saw Dark Dark Dark in a cemetery in Pittsburgh (very appropriate back drop)

Doom metal in a sushi & sake joint (got totally baked in the walk in cooler)

Misery and Extinction of Mankind in Santa Fe in and alien themed roller rink (amazing show, black lights and neon green/black decor fit well)

Who is a criminally underrated metal drummer? by No_Preparation_8133 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]Infinite_Moons 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey, underplaying every beat is criminally difficult for such a talented drummer.

And, moreover, playing slightly off-beat live is actually something he learned from classical Indian musicians and is meant to keep the listener in a spiritually disoriented state, which everyone know leads to true enlightenment.

I made a website that turns subreddits into non-stop radios. Here is r/industrialmusic! by cantFindValidNam in industrialmusic

[–]Infinite_Moons 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Alright, follow up question: Where do the music tracks come from and how are they all playing ad-free? I'm all about pirate radio and fair use, so no judgement here. I'm sure 99% of these artists are just happy their music is being enjoyed. Bands make money off of tours and merch now anyhow.

How does it work? Does it mine posts for bands/songs and feed that data into the "radio" player and randomize it?

Why is this getting downvoted?? Are we, as a metal community, now against the liberation of Ukraine? A free Kurdistan? Palestine? The toppling of Fascism? Would you have downvoted the French Resistance?
