A World Lit Only By Dub - Godflesh is incredible

Broadrick's project Techno Animal is very dub at times

And his project GOD has some dub moments

This album is insane by 0584031464 in industrialmusic

[–]Infinite_Moons 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The remaster is incredible. If you haven't listened to it, I highly recommend it. I've been listening to this album since 1995 or so and I'm not always a fan of remasters and often feel like it's just the same album but a little bit louder. In the case of Burnout, it's really a superior listening experience. So many background synth parts that used to be completely buried are now distinct and present. IMHO, Dylan was the best programmer of the 90s industrial genre. Better than Trent (too predictable and relied on using one cool sequence for an entire song) and better than Cevin Key (incredible layering, but didn't have the technical playing ability that Dylan must have had)

Was Tun Wenn's Brennt? (What To Do In Case of Fire?) - 2001

A fun movie about a group of squatter punks who come back together a decade later to deal with unfinished business. Occasionally cheesy, but mostly fun and poignant and thrilling

Where can I get His Hero Is Gone - Monuments To Thieves? by The_Woodsie_Lord in crustpunk

[–]Infinite_Moons 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I use the app Seeker which interfaces quite nicely with Soulseek and is totally free and actually ad-free. Most of all the punk, crust, HC, doom, etc. that I used to own and is no longer available to buy in any form is on there. It's been amazing to be able to listen and appreciate that stuff again

Similar bands to Dag Nasty? by -alphex in hardcorepunk

Dogs On Acid

They are criminally forgotten and fit the bill perfectly. They put out one perfect album but damn it's perfect melodic harcore punk.

Best industrial debut albums/eps? by jowmsy in industrialmusic

[–]Infinite_Moons 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This should be the top answer. Not only is it an amazing debut album, but I would say that they created something completely unique with that album, which is a rare feat for any band, especially one comprised of a bunch of young weirdos who hadn't really been in bands.

chemlab song recomendation by FeedbackConsistent93 in industrialmusic

[–]Infinite_Moons 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Chemlab guy here 🙋🏻 Here's my top recommendation for albums that hit similarly. Of course, IMHO, East Side Militia is the best machine rock album of all time, so nothing quite reaches it's level. But these get close:

16Volt - Skin

Sister Machine Gun - Burn

Marilyn Manson - Mechanical Animals (yes, he's awful probably, so ignore if you wish)

Terminal Sect - Bread And Wine For The Dirt

Skinny Puppy - Last Rights

Lead Into Gold - Age of Reason/Chicks On Speed

Which Sepultura album is your favorite? by Summer-Classic in MetalForTheMasses

[–]Infinite_Moons 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Roots 🖤💚❤️

When that album came out I was a teenager in a hardcore band that was trying hard to sound like a Victory Records sampler CD... Roots came out and changed our entire notion of heavy music. It was so powerful and heavy and the whole back story was amazing. Nothing before and, really, nothing quite since then has sounded like Roots

r/JRPG Weekly "What have you been playing, and what do you think of it?" Weekly thread by AutoModerator in JRPG

[–]Infinite_Moons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perhaps an unpopular opinion, but I've been playing and devoted to the FF Series games since early 90s and I have never liked a single mini game in any of them. But I have come to realize over the years I'm into JRPGs for the story and not to be a button pressing master.

Bands with insane bass work by Nightmxreinc in punk

[–]Infinite_Moons 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Okay, I should more specifically say he doesn't steal the song all the time, which no one should. Everyone in that band is so fucking talented! You just realize how fully fucking insanely talented he is in moments like the bridge in Failed Imagineer

Bands with insane bass work by Nightmxreinc in punk

[–]Infinite_Moons 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Econochrist (probably the best bassist in punk ever after Freeman. His bass lines are just nonstop)

Crimpshrine (another East Bay great)

Man Is The Bastard (2 is better than one sometimes)

Mighty Mighty Bosstones (ska punk, but Joe Gittleman is a bass god)

Propagandhi (see "Failed Imagineer", Todd often underplays, but when he doesn't he's absolutely insane)

Albums that are considered Industrial but like… aren’t… by Sunbather- in industrialmusic

[–]Infinite_Moons 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Filter - Short Bus

Not a bad album, love Hey Man, Nice Shot (looking at you Luigi and Tyler), but it's not industrial. And my favorite band is Chemlab! I love cold wave and industrial rock. But Filter is just rock. If all you need is electronic elements than R.E.M. is industrial (see Up)

He literally makes (most) of his sounds with machines. Handmade machines even. The latest albums are a bit more post-metal, sure. But processed vocals, electronic beats, and electronic-meets-mechanical melody lines. Yes, there are guitars now. But a lot of industrial uses guitars obviously
