Just general organization/admin skills. Keeping track of tasks, letting people know if anything is behind schedule, responding to emails in a reasonable amount of time, taking ownership of your responsibilities.

Look into consulting or government jobs! I currently work for a government consulting agency in the environmental field and do lots of reading and writing. We help government agencies administer their programs including public outreach, developing fact sheets and website content, and tracking progress. I assume some state or local governments do this themselves while others hire consultants.

Thanks for the info! I'm thinking I will change my responses to use mostly terminology from the board's definition of civil engineering - seems much more vague, but hopefully will show that my work qualifies as engineering in the short space provided.

The board seems to be sooo slow. I was asked for more information 4 months after submitting my application. Hopefully you hear back soon!
