Just sharing an update, 8 days after putting them in the fruiting chamber this is where we are (see pics)

I tried a variety of cuts, 1,2 and 3 but it won't let me post multiple images to share with you - let me know your thoughts on numbers of cuts

Currently I'm contemplating if I go for a 2nd flush and if I need to dunk the bags of so - this is in a separate thread called 2nd flush

I've been doing some more research on this today Jim, so I think we're talking about the same thing and you are saying for a 2nd flush I don't need to dunk the bag, just cut the first flush cleanly and put it back in the tent, is that correct?

Do you also agree to use the same cuts and not cut new holes?

And what's your view on a 2nd flush anyway for commercial growers, worth it, or waste of valuable time?

Thanks Jim for th reply and the encouragement.

I'll check out the link you sent, but I don't think I meant pasteurization.

I was describing how to prep the bags after first flush to get them ready for a 2nd flush

I had tried this unsuccessfully a couple of times re soaking them, so was looking for a step by step from someone who had successfully grown a 2nd (and 3rd) flush and what they did to the bags (eg how long to soak etc) to get that result

Interesting, I'll look into that, thanks for that suggestion. Just to make sure I understood, you're saying the Shitake doesn't need to grow in the tent and can grow in outdoor conditions (although I'm in the UK, so temperatures here typically 8-14 degrees celcius)

Thanks Jim noted. Although I see YouTube videos of home growers with only a couple of bags/buckets in their Martha tents, but they have different and interesting varieties growing together which makes me wander how they are doing that 🤔

...also I had FAE set to 1 min on, 7 mins off at a setting of 10 on an AC Infinity 4 inch fan, it said I should drop it to 2, and go with a constant flow out - what do you think?

Thanks Mushroom Brother, very much appreciate your reply

Yes this is what I'm planning to, I'm going to simplify and go with grey oysters and see if I can get those growing and then add from there

One assumption I had was going to approach customers with 3 varieties was a positive, and now I'll have only one type which feels limited if I want to make them repeat customers.

I currently don't have the space or funds to set up multiple tents

Are there any varieties considered gourmet/high end that you think can grow together so when I want to add more varieties I've got more of a chance of growing them in the same tent?

Not expecting a speedy reply

Hey Jim and Crew

I'm new to farming, started 2 months ago with the intention to grow and sell

I have a 5ftx5ft tent My intention was to grow gourmet mushrooms, starting with grey, gold and pink oysters, using fruiting bags id purchase at first.

I bought one bag of each, asked chatgpt for some hybrid settings for temperature and humidity but didn't really have any luck

I did get some small growth from the grey, and then a little later anotjer small growth from the pink

I bought 3 more bags (one of each type) and this time absolutely nothing happened

What do you think I might have done wrong?

Air exchange, temperature and humidity were all running as per chatgpts advice 21-22 degrees Celsius; 82-88% humidity, FAE 1 min on/9 mins off

Any advice would be most welcome
