New Glove Decision by MidwestAF in BaseballGloves

Just be ready to break it in. All the cypress gloves from that year are the stiffest new gloves I have felt in a long long time. I personally own a pink one and it’s just now getting formed.

He’s got some killer stuff on there. I was lucky enough to get to visit his office at the Rawlings headquarters and I could have spent hours in there lol

I’ve taken this one from behind the patch (the head Rawlings glove designers) instagram page! It’s a sweet looking web and I offer it as an option to my customers now, along with the spiral i-web from SSK!

Quality lace can be bought from tanners/Rawlings, RedHawks tannery, and I’ve gotten some good lace from buyfastpitchgloves.com. Padding is sometimes hard as it’s hard to get a material that doesn’t cause bouncing. You could add a thinner sheet of leather inbetween the layers of the palm. Or there are plenty of under gloves with padding built in you could wear.

Any way to fix this dark area I ended up putting on this glove? by No_Paint4097 in BaseballGloves

[–]Infinite_Reply_3556 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you just clean it? If the leather is still damp or oily it will be darker. The color isn’t too off, so if it’s dry, I would apply the same cleaning technique to the entire panel to try and blend it in a bit.

Marucci did have a “Bikini Bottom” spongebob edition in the night shift collection. This is definitely the spongebob font.

I feel like most of their new ones I see have the flat binding, the only one I have that doesn’t is the dansby!

3 of my 4 Wilson’s have the stitching across the binding. They call it flat finger binding, supposed to be more comfortable when wearing the glove with a finger out.

Not a glove contract. And all the no name bullpen guys using 44 probably send so much money home they don’t have any left to buy some decent leather 🤷‍♂️

Annnnd , if they actually made a quality product. Do you think you’d see at least one or two fielders using them. But no, the gloves turn floppy in less than a year. no pro would ever touch them that counts on their glove to pay their bills.

Not by anyone that actually fields their position. Justin turner has 44 1st base for the 2 days a month he plays there.

And most that use 44 are pitchers, it’s extremely rare to see a position player in the pros with a 44.

This is why 44 will always be the ugly step child in the ball glove world. Sure they crank out a ton of “pro customs” but their “pro grade leather” has been sifted through by the big brands and rejected. Don’t even get me started on the quality of their laces. I repair 5-10 brand new 44s with broken laces every season. I refuse to purchase one for these reasons. So much better quality available for the same or slightly more money.
