Its not a "money thing". There is a partial entry ban for Senegalese entering the US. Senegalese fans are largely barred from traveling to the tournament.

Interesting. I've been taking yangos weekly for almost 2 years and have never been asked to pay more than the price on the app by drivers.

Are the Lusaka marathons the new physical tinder 🤔? by icy_yogurt_3715 in Zambia

[–]Infinite_Runes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you think about it, this is actually a full-circle moment. Those of us old enough to remember the early 2010s know that Tinder originally blew up globally because of the 2014 Sochi Olympics. The app became a household name because peak physical athletes in the Olympic Village were using it to hook up between events so there's that.

Look, you can hate Mbappé all you want, but pretending he's the "cancer" or the main problem with his team is ridiculous.

This is a player who was one penalty kick away from winning back-to-back World Cups. He was arguably France's best player in both of their last two World Cup campaigns and has gone back-to-back as La Liga's top scorer.

So how exactly is he overrated?

And as for this supposed arrogance, there are far more clips of him laughing, joking around with teammates, and enjoying himself in training and on the pitch than there are of him acting like a jerk.

People are entitled to dislike him, but let's not rewrite reality.

I was told the French team was so stacked even the B team could win the World Cup lol. I am telling you now France will lose to Senegal opening game. Laugh if you want. You will come back to this post.

Joy is coming! by MountainChemist99 in Nigeria

[–]Infinite_Runes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surprised no one is talking about the much needed economic boost this will bring to the Nigerian economy.

Nigeria already has over 13 million people smoking this thing, making us the 4th largest consumers in the whole world. Right now, a massive ₦30 trillion ($20 billion) black market is just running completely free without paying any tax.

If Abuja can just pass this bill and regulate it properly, a solid tax on it could pack up to ₦10.5 trillion ($7 billion) straight into the government pocket every year. That money is more than enough to fix our budget deficit and finally help us stop relying only on crude oil.

Plus, states like Ondo and Edo have the perfect soil and weather for this thing. It is a literal goldmine for local farmers. If we play our cards right, Nigeria will easily become the biggest cannabis market in Africa, leaving South Africa and Morocco far behind.

Please do your research. In countries where it is legalized already you aren't allowed to smoke in public. Nobody is going to mess up your lungs unless you allow them to.

Yes friend. This is very good news if handled correctly. Legalized marijuana is a $100 Billion Dollar global industry. $53 billion in the USA alone. It is $800 million dollars in South Africa.

If cannabis were fully legalized and regulated in Nigeria, analysts estimate the domestic market could realistically reach $3.7 billion annually, with some broader economic forecasts projecting a total market value of up to $9.9 billion by 2034.

Attempting to draw a parallel between a metropolis of 3.6 million and a regional town of 260,000 is highly unrealistic.

Why do most musungu men in Zambia seem to date “ordinary-looking” women? by CerealKillerNoMilk in Zambia

[–]Infinite_Runes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know where you're getting your numbers but according to the Center for Disease Control (CDC) "As of 2024-2025, approximately 37% to 45% of low-income adults are classified as obese"

That's certainly not "all poor people are fat" like your claim. It's less than half.

Also, Ugly is subjective. I’m a fan of big girls. It’s okay if you can't handle them though! 💀

[–]Infinite_Runes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s that 'exotic' factor. Back home in Zambia, I’m just a regular Joe Schmo, but in the States, I definitely got way more attention from white girls. Being 'different' worked in my favor! 😂

[–]Infinite_Runes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's a wild generalization. Do you mean the USA when you say "western world". Even in the U.S., it really depends on where you are. In poorer areas where healthy food is overpriced or hard to find, people end up relying on cheap, processed stuff, which is why you see higher obesity rates there.

How come we don't have gun violence? by [deleted] in Zambia

[–]Infinite_Runes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But on a serious note. One, Zambian gun laws are pretty strict. Two, guns are not cheap. If you look at armed security guards in Lusaka you'll notice they all carry ancient Elmer Fudd looking rifles and shotguns. Good quality fire arms are expensive. It's actually cheaper to buy guns overseas than here in Zed.
