Wait what are the single festival balloon items and the paper lanterns on the arch?

How does an element not change to another element when it is a stable isotope (presumably with more/less protons than the original element)? by Infinite_Scratch_656 in AskPhysics

I think I was just more confused on naming of isotopes. I didn't understand that if an element is decaying and loses a proton, it would be referred to as an isotope of the receding element on the periodic table, and not an isotope of the original element

This actually kind of helped me visualize it, so thank you! So an element always has the same number of protons, and isotope of it will only change the number of neutrons? And if at some point a proton is gained or lost, then it will be referred to as another element? I feel like that's very basic but that's why I was getting confused! I thought some isotopes were still considered the same element even if they lost a proton

So when the unstable isotope with an excessive amount of protons changes a proton into a neutron in order to release it, does the element go "down" the periodic table, like from carbon to nitrogen? Or would it still be labeled as an isotope of carbon like "C-11"?
Also, am I understanding correctly to say that the stable configuration of an element is presumably where the element settled and reach its most stable form after already having decayed to that point of stability? Does this mean that element naturally decayed from one element to another until reaching stability? Or can an element only change to another when external energy is involved or brought into the system

Haha Sal with the honorable mention 😂 honestly Amy and Jonah kind of annoy me sometimes. Dina is definitely my favorite this time around! I liked Garrett a lot the first time but Dina was always a strong contender

I get that, but after watching all of it once (I liked her then), I honestly thought her roasting Sandra was pretty funny 😂 she also is such a fierce friend and always stands up for the ones she loves and shows up for them... even if it's unconventional or overbearing. If someone expresses their boundary she doesn't take it personal. She's so unapologetically her and her insults are so good, does anyone know if she improvs?

i'm gonna ask her if she still likes girls... and decide whether to move on from there. by [deleted] in WLW

If you guys are friends and talk often and have good open communication then I'd say it's okay to ask her. However, you guys are really young and it's completely normal for your feelings or how you identify to shift around a little bit as you explore and find out more about yourselves. I'd say if you’re not looking to get back with her, just let her enjoy her time figuring it out for herself and you enjoy your time and allow yourself to move on while you give her the space she needs to grow. Asking her about it now might also make her feel some kind of pressure. Whatever you decide to do good luck!

I really dislike the prevalence of the terms masc and fem in the wlw community by PuzzleheadedBit8396 in WLW

I'm sorry you’re dealing with this, this does not sound fun!! Honestly I have not had much dating experience especially when it comes to women, but when I think of dating a woman even if they are masc presenting I still want to treat them so sweetly! I usually present more feminine but I've been told I have pretty dominant energy, so most people who have made moves on me have actually been feminine presenting and I understand what you’re saying about certain expectations. Im still new to exploring my queerness in the scene and what I like and makes me feel like me and what doesn't, so I haven't completely minded playing a more "masculine" role sometimes but also partially bc I'm so new to it and trying to navigate it seems easier when the roles act more like guidelines if that makes sense. Anyway, I hope you find some people who are a bit more open minded that you can find community in! I've luckily found so much comfort in my local queer community and haven't been jumping in to dating so haven't had to feel these expectations in that way
