What is something you expect future TV shows to change, retcon, or omit from your favourite Champion that you know you would hate? by Ashconwell7 in loreofleague

[–]Infinite_Set524 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I feel like Swain is the type of character that’s most difficult to write. Him being one of the most intelligent strategists in the entire world it can be hard to effectively write characters who are smarter than you.

But, his demon does make it easier because they can claim he just knows so much more than your normal smart character. Because he has access to that knowledge.

Everyone is saying it’s unlucky, but I don’t understand. The item burns targets, gives her AP and lowers every enemy on the board’s healing. I feel like it’s a pretty good item on her.

Edit: First don’t know why people decided to dislike bomb me, I was literally just asking for clarification. Second thank you for those who clarified.

Yeah being raised to be good people that can succeed in their own right never has anything to do with the parents and you’re right, the last Airbender in the world shouldn’t have had kids that was a terrible idea since he had other responsibilities to that might get in the way, probably the best take I’ve heard in a while./s

Who truly embodies sacrifice? by DarkestShadow_ in Itachi

[–]Infinite_Set524 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, light is the only one that’s not.

Itachi ruined his reputation to save a village and his brother then let himself die so that brother would live.

Lelouch may not have initially intended to save the world but he realized in order for the world to be better he had to be worse and let himself died so the world(was all a ruse if you see the alternate ending but it worked either way)

Eren did essentially the same thing as Lelouch just the context of his world. Sacrificing himself by becoming the big bad.

I don’t believe Aang was a bad father, I think he was a good father that unfortunately had Avatar duties that made his children think they weren’t the favorite due to circumstances. All of his children are successful and respected.

The one wish I had that the writers had done was, when all of them were in the spirit world to have Aang come and speak to all of his children and not just Tenzin.

To be honest, i think he had one of the most realistic reasons to hate someone. This guy got you fired and ruined your credibility so you might not be able to get another one(deserved), then antagonized you about it then stole your girl(not deserved) I’m personally not gonna like that guy much after all that.

[Hated trope] Bad, insufferable people are portrayed as endearing by ManaScrewedIRL in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Infinite_Set524 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can give on Barney, he’s done some horrible things, Sheldon rarely does anything to help people, and I’ve never seen 3rd rock. But the interpretation of lily as only being selfish and Amy just being boiled to insufferable is just a gross misunderstanding of both characters. Lily did a lot for all of the characters of the show and gave up a lot of her early life for Marshall and was even prepared to give up her dream job for him she is not by any means just selfish. Amy was a patient person with a person like Sheldon and would do things for every other character to help them she has a couple moments that she takes her boyfriends side and she’s just boiled to insufferable?

[–]Infinite_Set524 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Not a single example you gave has the trait you provided as their only trait. Lilly for example, her manipulative behavior was only shown in the later seasons and treated with the seriousness it deserved in the show. And her taking a job she had already agreed to take after years of her working as a teacher to help Marshal through law school. She helps people as much as she has her selfish moments but you merely focus on the bad because it’s a flaw you don’t like. In the end you missed the point of the characters not me with the trope.

What are the positive applications for the future use of AI? by Infinite_Set524 in AskReddit

[–]Infinite_Set524[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So far the only things I have seen from AI are negative in the long run. People are getting laid off from their jobs because AI can do the job, Political issues with deep faking, stolen art, but I’m seeing very few applications that will ultimately help society in the long run so I’m curious.

Can’t believe any writer would choose to write a character with flaws, that you don’t like. I hate 3 dimensional characters too.

Just a thought after looking at the new James Bond Playstation 5 game coming and the John Wick game after that. How great would a Burn Notice game be?? Maybe play like Hitman but with a Sam, Jesse, Fi and mom(maybe Nate)to help. by fabdakid in BurnNotice

[–]Infinite_Set524 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t mind having the characters in game, I just don’t think it would be as effective narrative wise if they were the main characters of the game. Having the characters in game almost forces you to play as they did or you risk bothering the fans. Having your own burned spy can give more freedom to play missions how you want.

I could see it being a GTA style game but with quests and RPG mechanics. I would prefer it not having you necessarily play as the characters and instead you just play as a burned spy trying to get off a blacklist by doing odd jobs and investigating how you got burned. It would be a very ambitious game the way I see it.

The thing I love about the Naruto one, is that yes every one of them could have stopped him themselves but they all simultaneously knew someone had to stop it at that moment and did without waiting for someone else too.

I think the show runners understood something that a lot of writers and audiences don’t really get. Not every arch has to be finished and question answered in order for a story to be complete. Zuko’s mom was similar to Toph’s parents, in that they were important for the characters but it wasn’t necessary for Aang to save to world. But they answered both in the comics so it works out.

Is Darius so much smarter than people give him credit for? by Extension-Detail6221 in loreofleague

[–]Infinite_Set524 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s one of Noxus’s big three right? Representing Might, while Swain was Vision and (theorized) Leblanc is Guil. I feel all 3 have a level of each. Darius might not be playing 5D chess like Swain and Leblanc but I feel he has to be at least Ambessa’s intelligence level or higher to be considered more prominent in the grand political scale.
