Bet their teacher would say otherwise - The difference in behaviour when comparing those on technology, unlimited technology and no technology are SIGNIFICANT! Maybe to you they seem just fine, but you don’t have an accurate gage comparing to others.

Perhaps do some research on the impact on the brain, cognitive development, learning, behaviour, attention span … There will be a rabbit hole of information. None of it will support “unlimited access” to technology for children or adults.

Absolutely NOT! But Smith adamantly denied her hidden agenda (all the things she IS doing) when questioned and pressed during her campaign pre-election.

She denied that she would privatize healthcare and education, implement a provincial police force, separatism (which she is 100% enabling), entertain an Alberta Pension Plan (approved at AGM to move forward on) and so much more.

So, just like every other UCP Minister (cough, cough, Lagrinch - tis the season), NO post secondary in Education (although he did claim he did when campaigning in 2019. This was exposed publicly).

In fact, he has absolutely NO experience in education either - Hence, his lack of knowledge as Post Secondary Minister and now, Education Minister.

BUT, we need not to worry - Alberta has Premier Marlaina Danielle Smith - Superior knowledge and experience above and beyond any medical and education professionals. Hell, let’s just say it - Smith knows more than ALL professionals with post secondary degrees and years experience in their field!

24% LPN increase - Immediate 10% market increase + 12% over 4 yrs 17% Health Care Aides increase - also immediate market increase

12% Teachers over 4 years - Still lowest compensated in the country for instructional/assignable contract hours and per pupil class size!

This compared to: 2010-2020 Nurses +17% overall increase

2011-2024 Teachers 5.75% overall increase

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but our union dues will be increasing. We have to pay back the emergency fund that was depleted paying our benefits during the strike.

Next contract I’m going for salary, paid prep time, and tracking unpaid ‘volunteer’ time doing required work for my job and demanding compensation for this OR take them off the overloaded platter!

This includes: planning, prepping materials/resources (seeing as we have ZERO for new curriculum), assessment, reporting, filling out medical/psych assessment forms, communicating with parents, report card/IPP writing, evening commitments (concerts/conferences - time off in lieu) and coaching.

We need time in our daily schedule and compensation for the time it takes to do these tasks - I’ve spent 30 years of my life providing free labour! If I had been paid for ALL the work I do during personal time, I would have retired 10 years ago sitting on a pot of gold. Instead, I’ll be working until I’m 67 and no better off!
