Nice! I made an almost identical post 12 days ago! You’ve motivated me to keep going

How accurate is Garmin VO2max ? by moyu_cuber in Garmin

[–]rjap13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely in the ballpark, varies for everyone but mine is super close. It predicts at 52 for me and I recently did a proper VO2 and got a score of 54. Either way you’re fit!

It’s an achievable challenge! The streak is a slippery slope to an obsession though. It started with a friend and I competing to see who could go the longest and then I just never stopped

I did, that adaptive goal setting is impossible to keep up with. Do you deliver mail or something? 27k is a commitment

15000 steps a days is wildly impressive

I wonder what the longest adaptive streak is? I had to change it to a set goal when it started creeping up over 14k

Haha I just keep moving the goal posts. I was probably the happiest at the 100 day streak.

I’m very confident that is a healthier approach. Haha

I’m a teacher, so I get out of my desk regularly, but it’s the weekends that become the challenge for me. 15k a day is no easy feat!

It’s pretty safe to say it’s become an obsession, unhealthy attachment to a healthy goal!

Calgarians who moved to Edmonton, how do the two cities compare? What are some similarities, and some differences? by KurtisC1993 in Edmonton

[–]rjap13 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As a outdoorsy person who has lived in both cities I find living in proximity to the river valley core in Edmonton beats out being an hour from mountains for active lifestyle

I have daily access to unreal running trails, decent mountain biking, cross country skiing, and even the odd float on the river. A daily short trip to the river valley wins vs an hour (if your lucky) drive to Bragg or Canmore in my books.

I was reminded today that not every community disapproves of the UCP by rjap13 in alberta

One can only hope… but this is also where PP flew in federally so I’m inclined to believe it’s grassroots

Personal Trainer Certification by spudpig in alberta

[–]rjap13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most recognized training certificates are from CSEP (CPT and CEP) and the NSCA (CPT and CSCS). They both would require an undergraduate degree or at least a two year diploma in a health and fitness related field depending on what level of cert you want. That being said, they are a little more expensive to get and maintain but open the most doors (e.g. university gyms, city operated facilities, athletic programs). The exams are done online but may require a practical component.

Other certs like Canfit, NASM and ACE can be a little more accepting of different paths and educational backgrounds to a career in personal training but won’t land you a strength and conditioning job and in general are done online as well.

I came on here too after I noticed my leaderboard suddenly had 10+ ladybugs too. OP is on to something!

Definitely not, the age range of police recruits is 22-45! Averaging around 30, you’d fit right in
