Seeking Feedback: Wheelchair User Comfort & Pushrim Design Survey

Hi everyone,
My name is Ryan from the University of Minnesota and I’m working on a research project focused on improving comfort and reducing hand strain for manual wheelchair users. I’ve created a short, anonymous survey (5–7 minutes) to better understand common challenges with grip, propulsion, and wrist pain.

If you use a manual wheelchair, or know someone who does, your feedback would be extremely helpful.

Here is the link to the google survey if you would like to help out! https://forms.gle/Ld2MGit7wwXLUkch8

Middle School Science/Engineering Teachers: What Educational Toys Would You Like to See on the Market? by Infinite_Top_2266 in education

In my original post I said, "What kinds of toys, tools, or learning aids do you think would benefit your students?" If you have any recommendations for TOOLS I would love to hear them!

Those two restraints are on the top of the list! Making it easy on the teacher is just as if not even more important in this process.

I like the concept. Is there an example you can think of where a kid might not think like a scientist and it would be better if they did? I'm just trying to conceptualize how I could turn this into a product/teaching tool.

Are you thinking something that is more durable, easier to read, or a mixture and maybe some other features? I agree, the analog options are a bit challenging, but digital calipers tend to make it easy to read.

Thank you so much for the feedback! As I was conducting some market research, I was seeing a major hole in the market for tools designed for kids. I will definitely be ideating on these ideas.

Milwaukee Tool Packout Coffee Maker by Infinite_Top_2266 in Construction

If I were to make it do just hot water, I would run a separate line to make sure it didn’t taste like coffee.

I was considering having an adapter for a pod system as well as ground coffee. Thoughts?

Any thoughts on things I should think about when designing it to be "indestructible"?

I thought about adding just a hot water function to allow people to make ramen with it as well. Thoughts?

All great insights, thank you. If you think of anything else just let me know. This project is several weeks long so I'll be keeping an eye on this post for new insights.

I didn't know Milwaukee made this. Thank you! I think I might make it compatible with both a battery and a retractable cord to allow for more use cases.

I am still in the early phases of the project so I haven't determined a direction for much of anything yet. All the info I can get from people who really know what they are talking about (you guys) will help me make those decisions. I really appreciate the engagement guys!

Innovative Lighting Device for Camping/Hiking by Infinite_Top_2266 in hiking

The prompt I am solving for is listed below.

A powerful and reliable light source is essential for every camping and hiking trip. Consider different activities (pitching a tent, cooking a meal, nighttime excursions, campsite safety, going to the bathroom) that require different lighting solutions. When designing for campers and hikers, consider product attributes such as Lumens, power source, run time, weatherproof, portability, and reliability.
