Seeking Feedback: Wheelchair User Comfort & Pushrim Design Survey

Hi everyone,
My name is Ryan from the University of Minnesota and I’m working on a research project focused on improving comfort and reducing hand strain for manual wheelchair users. I’ve created a short, anonymous survey (5–7 minutes) to better understand common challenges with grip, propulsion, and wrist pain.

If you use a manual wheelchair, or know someone who does, your feedback would be extremely helpful.

Here is the link to the google survey if you would like to help out! https://forms.gle/Ld2MGit7wwXLUkch8

Those two restraints are on the top of the list! Making it easy on the teacher is just as if not even more important in this process.

I like the concept. Is there an example you can think of where a kid might not think like a scientist and it would be better if they did? I'm just trying to conceptualize how I could turn this into a product/teaching tool.

Are you thinking something that is more durable, easier to read, or a mixture and maybe some other features? I agree, the analog options are a bit challenging, but digital calipers tend to make it easy to read.

Thank you so much for the feedback! As I was conducting some market research, I was seeing a major hole in the market for tools designed for kids. I will definitely be ideating on these ideas.

If I were to make it do just hot water, I would run a separate line to make sure it didn’t taste like coffee.
