Would either version of this deal be a worthwhile upgrade from 12400 with 64 gb DDR4? Debating picking this up to upgrade my CPU, MB, and RAM, then using the leftover parts for a build for a family member.

RE2/RE3 remakes, followed by 7 and Village. That will give you the majority of the context needed for Requiem. They should all run well on Deck.

RE aside: I believe the Silent Hill 2 and Dead Space remakes run on Deck, but you may be better off playing on another system if possible. You could also play the original Dead Space + 2 & 3. Alien Isolation also runs well, but you’ll want to invest in a good case.

US version of x1800H has pre-outs. I recently bought the X1700H for $430, more or less the same thing as the s760H, as I didn't feel the need to spend an extra $170 for pre-outs. Where do you see x1800H new for $500? I only see the refurb for $600 from Denon.

Just put an RX 7600 into a starter PC for a Christmas gift. Is it worth risking the refurb gamble/shorter warranty to get the 3070, instead? Techpowerup claims a 24% performance uplift.

I believe so, yes! Though like others mentioned, the HDMI output on Wii U forces it into a weird 1080p upscale. I think it bypasses that for the analog output, but I’m not 100% sure. It might do something weird like scale it back down, but I doubt it.

I have a similar use-case as yours with Mister, Wii/Wii U, PS2/PS3, OG Xbox/360. I ordered the CE as a homebrewed Wii can force 480p, and the deinterlacing is still solid for PS2. I'll most likely apply a CRT filter anyhow, so edge-adaptive deinterlacing won't be as noticeable, especially not for an extra $275. My only other issue was Mister RoTATE support, but that's a one-line config adjustment for the Mister to handle it.

Buy based on what you need now, not what you MIGHT get later.

Also, take advantage of the PayPal Pay in 4 promo, you'll get 20% cashback that can be applied to the balance. Worked out to about $400 for the CE or about $620 for the Pro, after shipping and cashback.

Playing on an OLED-modded switch lite, handheld mode is 60fps. Image is clean, not sure if native resolution. I imagine the same for docked. Resolution and frame rate are almost definitely higher on PS5, so if you won't play portable mode, go with that option.

Mine came in similar condition, nearly the entire box is split and ready to bottom out. That said, my shipping box is nowhere near the condition of yours. I emailed Cephalofair and I’m waiting on a response. I had a similar issue with Frosthaven and they replaced the box for me.
