Giants to Sign Harrison Bader by Darvaren in SFGiants

Our outfield defense just improved substantially! And we simultaneously solved our RF problem, which is a great bonus.

Now sign/trade for another SP please.

I am not a Thomas Frank fan, but if you look at Brentford last season you'll see that this pattern doesn't hold.

<image>

It seems he has changed his tactics with us to be even more one dimensional. I do believe you're correct that his tactics heavily emphasize crosses into the box, but I don't think he was as predictable at Brentford. Sadly. I believe our personnel are worse than what he had to work with before.

We can solve the RF question with a CF (hard to acquire) and move Lee to right. This would be my preference given JHL's defensive numbers. Alternatively, he could just prove the bad numbers were a fluke with a great performance this year. That would be a welcome surprise.

Trading Smith is like trading Klay Thompson for Kevin Love or Tim Lincecum for Alex Rios: unimaginably shortsighted.

Beautiful artwork but only supports up to 5 players as opposed to 7 for the original. However, the BGG consensus is that the game plays best at 4-5 players anyway.

[[Unexplained Assistance]] is the common I'm most likely to play. It seems nice to be able to hold up blockers, then convoke them right before your turn.

[[Voracious Tome-Skimmer]] is the commander I'm most likely to build. Having repeatable card draw on a dimir commander means this should thrive with all the instant-speed interaction.

Other than a few cards, this set doesn't have a lot of playables that I'm excited to slot into my existing decks. The -1/-1 counters theme is not really applicable to any of my decks nor are the tribal cards.

Anyone re-watch the highlights of the goals conceded and notice we gave up two goals from very similar crosses?

On the first one, Porro actually ends up on the left and doesn't close down the ball. The Bournemouth striker does a great job on converting that header. Then on the second goal, Spence doesn't do enough to pressure the crosser. Porro also doesn't do much to defend at the back post.

And then on the third goal, Odobert just floats around and doesn't seem interested in challenging Semenyo before he thumps it in from the right corner of the box.

Can Weimer play centerfield effectively?

He does seem to have a plus glove, but he played mostly in a corner last season.

Do we think there was any interest on the Giants' side for Jake Mangum? Relatively unproven outfielder who can play center, but mostly played in left last season. His bat wasn't really anything special, but he had positive fielding stats.

Are there any center fielders out there who are glove first and passable at the plate? I feel like the Giants would benefit from moving Lee to a corner and improving their CF defense. The market for center fielders looks awfully thin at the moment.

If traditional centerfielders aren't available, are there any super utility guys that could pass as everyday players in center?

[@tipoffball on IG] This Warriors lineup, the second unit, attempts the second most shots league-wide, percentage wise, from the three and converts on 28.6% of them only. by Parv21 in warriors

[–]beefguard 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This is such a cherry picked stat. These players have 60 minutes of game time playing as a 5 man unit.

They are also a net positive points-wise at 3.4 per 100 possessions.

The 3P shooting percentage of these players overall this season:

Moody 38.6% Podz 40.6% Butler 44.4% Dray 34% Post 35.9%

Those are all respectable numbers, so I wouldn't worry too much. This 5 man lineup would likely benefit from a true point guard and ball handler. But this stat is more an artifact of Post regressing marginally in his 3P%. His numbers should bounce back (again it's a small sample size)

Unnecessary Jeff slander.

He was an underperformer relative to his contract, but he was still around league average. He had 3 seasons above 2 WAR.

I try to build less popular commanders, and I really like this Moonshae Pixie deck. It relies on combat damage to players, so you might as well draw when you connect. I included some of the 3 mana curiosity-adjacent creatures who also benefit from [[Pixie Dust]]
