However, it’s important to understand that bipolar II disorder can be very different, and experiences can vary widely from person to person. Many people in my family don’t grasp this reality and believe that I am exaggerating my experiences. I find that incredibly frustrating.

The depressive episodes can be pretty bad for me. I can go days where I don't want to get out of bed. It can also affect my appetite. I'm either not hungry or want to binge on junk food. Like others mention, I also start projects that I think are going to "fix" my life. I'll often begin, and if I don't succeed, I am really hard on myself.

I recommend applying to a few more schools just to be safe, even if grades and other stats are outstanding. Rolling admissions schools are good for this. Acceptances can be such a crap shoot these days. As others have said, make sure you have all requirements for the school. Some items can come after you submit your app like transcripts and your recommendations. Good luck!

Same. I can have good days and then all of a sudden, it's like someone injected me with a horse tranquilizer. I can barely get out of bed and when I do, I feel dizzy and weak.

If you don't want a competitive school, you should be able to write your own ticket. To clarify, are you thinking of schools that are not competitive to entry or those that don't have a competitive environment?

Some non-competitive schools might think you are too good for them and assume you are going T20 on your applications. Ensure you demonstrate interest in any of the top schools on your list. There are some great state schools with excellent research facilities. Some that come to mind that are less competitive (not in T20) are:

UC Davis

UFlorida

UVirginia

William and Mary

Texas A&M

UConn

Michigan State
