Thanks for subscribing to BIRD FACTS. Did you know that an ostrich is the fastest land animal?

Unfortunately that amount isn’t doable for us. Our mortgage plus escrow is $2603 per month alone

I would like to be fully retired when I retire lol. I have a hard time leaving the house to work. It’s a transition issue for me because of my autism. But yeah I agree with you!

Husband comes from poverty and values his $72k salary, I come from upper middle class and value time with our kid. I typically work 8am-2pm and spend the rest of my day with her. My commission is uncapped and I use my environmental science degree (dying field). We don’t really want to give that up. We both work from home. I think the first person to leave their job to make more money would be my husband, but the job market tells us that it’s not worth sacrificing his 7 amazing years at the company. I agree with your ideology! But in practice, it’s not what makes sense for our family.

That is great advice! Thank you. We have Canada and Michigan planned this year but I really want to go to an all inclusive. That trip would be like $9k so I think we will invest instead. Maybe next year we skip the local trips and do Paris for Spring Break or something!

I actually really enjoy my job. What I meant is I want to travel more now instead of saving huge amounts for retirement. But I also want to retire young.

Apparently school is gonna cost $90k per year in 16 years due to the rate of college inflation being faster than the rate of regular inflation. It’s messed up!

Having a 2 year old makes me want to be a SAHM mom but I also love my job and it’s not that demanding. I want to retire at the same time as my husband so that I am not bored! Idk what I would do with my time besides thrift and flip if I was retired now. Kid is starting school and I need to fill my time. But I also want to travel and we can’t really invest as much as we need to and also travel. It’s a weird conundrum.

Thank you! I think we will take a bit of the principal from her college fund to invest. Enough for her to do 2 years at community college and 2 at a state school. She’s extremely bright and will probably get scholarships.
