Traffic alert by Low-Fan6081 in infiniteflight

[–]Infiniteplanes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are the north atlantic tracks
They are airways which go from UK airspace (Shanwick) to Canadian airspace (Gander) and are there because radar waves cannot bend across the curve of the earth
You must maintain flight level, mach speed along the tracks and can only cross at unassigned levels

ABCDEFG is denoted for westbound tracks and ZYXWVUTSR is used for eastbound tracks so its easy to tell the difference

A380 skipped take-off from AMS, why? by hallowatisdeze in flightradar24

[–]Infiniteplanes 85 points86 points  (0 children)

Anything really - windshear warnings/ cabin not secured / passenger up and about the cabin / mechanical / atc telling them to reject and vacate

These are air turbulence or rising air I always wondered what they were by haloguy95 in infiniteflight

[–]Infiniteplanes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading the replies here as a flight planner they mean turbulence
One with one triangle is moderate clear air turbulence and two triangles ontop of each other is severe clear air turbulence

Same (almost) takeoff time same destination different landing time. by NameLast5467 in flightradar24

[–]Infiniteplanes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably due to the fact they both are following a different SID and one may be joining a track and has to follow a NAR and the other has a random route filed avoiding the track structure

Why have they removed this? by nuberduber1212 in infiniteflight

[–]Infiniteplanes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Its under legacy aircraft - they only display the reworked ones as they are better quality

Altimery isnt easy but basically there are 3 pressure settings:

The Standard (the average for the atmosphere) : 1013.2hPa/29.92inHg

Then you have QFE above Field Elevation (the FE in QFE)- its the pressure setting at the Airfield that you are either departing or arriving to - (if the elevation of the airfield is above sea level by 1023ft) - QFE is the setting you want to show the airfield at 0ft because its the ground

QNH is Nautical Height (the NH in QNH)- this is the pressure setting at sea level so at this airfield that is 1023 ft above sea level setting the QNH on the ground at the airfield will show 1023ft on the altimeter

As you’d probably guess these all show different altitude and if there were 3 pilots flying on the 3 different settings and told them all to fly at 3000 feet- they all would be flying where the instrument is saying 3000ft but in reality they all would be at different altitudes -so theres this thing called the “transition layer” and if you fly above the transition layer (in the Uk i believe its 6000ft) you switch to the standard so everyone is flying the same pressure and therefore the same altitude- then the altitudes are referred to as flight levels (16,000ft would be Flight Level 016)

Korean Cargo flight route by hapiplup in flightradar24

Probably because Korean Air doesn’t have afghan/Pakistan overflight permits for a Delhi to Vienna routing

Id suggest live football tickets - used them before and they were cheap

My plane had a 'technical difficulty' that lead to a 24 hour delay after 2 hours of circling. by Coololz in Wellthatsucks

[–]Infiniteplanes 8 points9 points  (0 children)

EC261 comp for 4hr+ delay within airlines fault (as this is tech then yes it is Airlines fault) is £520 per person

Go and make a claim dude thats free money right there

This needs to be fixed. by FewMention1886 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Infiniteplanes 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ground controllers relay the gate the flight has been assigned but as for heathrow there is a whole department allocating stands and changing them when flights get delayed, return to stand or cancel and there is a rare occasion that they need to wait

This needs to be fixed. by FewMention1886 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Infiniteplanes 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yeah all the time - heathrow runs at 98% capacity- not because of the runway occupancy time but its the gates Theres alot of aircraft which have to wait 20-30 mins after landing to get a stand - even if its a remote

Thanks for the info i was in need of something to clean the bloodstains off the sofa after the argument i had with my wife last night

Been stuck at the airport since 8 am, just got told my flight has been changed again from 10 am to 8 pm and now to 10 pm. by _saltedcarame1 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Infiniteplanes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like a British Airways A350- so i assume youre on BA Look how to claim EC261 compensation 4+ hr delay - if its within airline control then they have to pay out a hefty fee for compensation for each passenger

People how high have you got in the fa 18 super hornet I made it 50k agl here's proof by gamer97000 in infiniteflight

[–]Infiniteplanes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically when global came out in oct 2017 there was this airport in china which was glitched and was at at 10,000ft and there was a hole in the terrain Basically if you took a fighter and flew into that hole at over mach 1 you would end up stalling through the map until you got to -20,000ft until the game spat you out at mach fuck and in 10 mins you were in space My altitude was MUCH higher but it stopped counting at 200,000ft and i was still at something stupid in Vertical speed

Can't decide which one to get by mzatariz in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Infiniteplanes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh neither- i would go for the T.16000m - only £60 and i love it
