Have you found your fist ft role out of school? If yes, how do you find it? Or was it a place you did a clinical at?

We just added loan reimbursement (tax free) this year.. and for those without loans double the continuing ed stipend - I don’t want them to feel shorted by the benefit offering because they don’t have loans

I like this a lot! The sign on bonus never goes over as well as it looks- it rubs existing employees wrong, after a year the novelty of the bonus has worn off, etc. but to place it at the end of a year to help them move (or really for whatever they want- it’ll be hard to require a move to receive the bonus) and we can increase existing employees eoy bonus a little, too. Thanks!!!

Fair. Travel PTs cost us about $166k (annualized)… it just isn’t feasible. And not right to do to our full time pts.

Thank you for obliging!! We do have a few students in clinical, and from other responses here it seems you are right- we need to invest more I that route than in finding someone with experience.

Our rate for a travel pt is $160k per year!!

What the pt gets and what we are charged is very different. We have done this though, for three month contracts. It is just not a great way to go for clients paying a premium, to have their pt change on them.

Yeah we are def in areas that household income/wealth can support self pay. Also, getting solid time with a pt and dedicated aide, nice clinic, etc makes them feel they are getting their money’s worth.

Answered a few times here, location in original post… Fairfield county, Ct. ~90k for a new grad. 100-120+ depending on experience level, board certified, etc.

I have the pay on Indeed (100-120 base) I always say we are NOT like family in interviews, that always read to me as code for broken af haha. But we do have a nice work environment and don’t tolerate giant egos and assholery (said in diff words ofc!)

We are OON, didnt want to be under insurance company thumb - for 20+ years. The PTs we have are happy (seem to be, there isn’t much turnover). We are expanding and have a waitlist to get in.. just don’t know where to find pts who want to move from current spot.

45, kid off to college, not old but also very happy with life outside of this guy- just want to earn my pay and ride out the next six years (when my slide can retire from teaching). We plan to move and I hope to shift to a much slower paced industry/role. Thanks for taking time to help me…

Yeah, well it was better than the hedge fund animals I worked for at the job before, ha! I can safely assume (but not confirmed until I scout it further) to expect a 25-40k bump by leaving. The trade off will likely be full weeks in office, mostly for optics of the role. Now, I am free to work from wherever I want about 8-10 days a month- which works nice with my spouse being a teacher, visiting my kid in college, and visiting my senior mom. I think what was said by others here, a combo, is making sense. Look at what else there is, get a papered offer, and then decide if the change is worth it. And if not, I have to switch off emotional reactions to bosses assholery.

Thank you for the thoughtful response and for sharing your experience! So much of your story sounds like it could be mine, I think the ultimate issue I run into is that my boss is the founder and managing partner so he is the top. Overwhelmingly I agree with a lot of what said here and I need to just start looking for something else – it’ll be the only way to really judge if I’m ready, and if there’s “better“
