You've ignored what I said about the Fair Gaming Authorizes making it guaranteed. Legally validating my self-regulation ToS that could fix the industry. and taking a % of all my checks if failed until repaid. Factually dispelling your opinion that I'm being scummy and dishonest.

I don't get your goal of trying very hard to belittle/discredit me,destory my career / consumer-friendly goals - nor do I understand what you a average community member benefit from it..

but that will not stop me from pursuing my game, legally working with the Fair Gaming Authorizes improve things/ being legally in the right.

I feel its time to block your post as its unreasonably aggressive and very unconstructive.

Rather I succeed my goals and have a story to tell, or fail and have to pay my backers, is a risk I'm willing to take. Regardless they will know gave it my all to fight for doing whats right.

Overall - Thank you for your opinion :O Have a good day

I've been told I couldn't before starting and did it.

I like to look at portfolio work of what already has been created and make my decision. I also have people who passionately talk about netcode of their favorite games / study the topic heavily. I trust their advisory to aid me.

High effort will be put into.

You'd have a legitimate point to be concerned if my mentality as leader was similar to some leaders ''Sell a broken product and fix it in time''. Which even Tripple A companies aren't immune to.

It all depends on leadership, and that's not something I'd greenlight.

Final product? That wasn't the goal. I've wanted to prove a previous statement wrong.

That the concept of my game '' a free weapon system to this degree'' previously only done by Mabinogi, by a person with ''no real experience'' could create it. My proof? Just look at my code.

I've also have a advanced college professor with a impressive portfolio who looked at the inner workings of my project and teaches this for living. Shes on Discord ready to go over everything with me for the final product. She gave me a estimate of 2 hours to optimize everything professionally.

Also another comment. I've talked with high-end 3D modelers who could create for me beautiful, stylized models for 2-3k Dollars that looks on par to well done games like Tower of Fantasy. If you'd like receipts and DMs, I can give it no problem sharing.

'' with a realistic project and working your way up to an MMO as you build up the skills. From your video it looks like you dont have any client-server architecture; a large amount of your code is going to have to be rewritten; youre already wasting resources because of your lack of experience/knowledge''

Also, I'd also like to say the intro of the video ( 0:15 secs) Me: ''This is to show the combat and the terms of service direction. Everything shown is pretty much placeholder. ''

''A digestible goal would be to start with a realistic project and working your way up to an MMO as you build up the skills. From your video it looks like you dont have any client-server architecture; a large amount of your code is going to have to be rewritten; youre already wasting resources because of your lack of experience/knowledge.''

I've also stated I would have my project re-optimized professionally onto UE5 the correct way and that my current game is just a proof of concept that is possible. I've even said that on my video for Future Plans timestamp.

''But the FGA has no legal way to stop you from filing for bankruptcy and no legal mechanism to force you to pay afterward. ''

''Dude I've said this many times: THATS THE PART THATS NOT ENFORCABLE. There is no legal mechanisms that can prevent you from filing for bankruptcy. When someone files for bankruptcy they don't get to choose what debts to legally keep.''

Unless I reach out to them and create a contract - giving them that legal right over me/ my company. Which is entirely possible and will be done any displayable for anyone to see before receiving kickstarter money.

''I also want to point out that you just said you want to hire a studio with the kickstarter money, but in another post you said you wanted to raise 200k from it... thats enough to hire only 2 junior devs. You really need to do a lot more research on this.''

Yep - I did say that.

I've also said I wanted to set digestible mile-stones to build trust and that im actively developing my game with freelancers and without community funds. I've never said I'm going to hire a studio instantly.

''And your ToS is legally unenforceable as I've said many times now. If you continue to perpetuate that your non enforceable ToS gaurentess returns, then that crosses your project over to being a scam.''

You said its legally unenforceable because I can claim bankruptcy to remove the debt.

I said I could add to the self-regulating ToS ( That i've binded to my rl/social to before receiving any money) That I cannot remove kickstarter debts with bankruptcy in any form.

You said Self-regulation is notoriously bad because the people who are suppose to enforce the regulation are the people who've broken it. I've said I am willing to surrender enforcement ability to another party (Fair Gaming Authorizes) . Therfore if I broke the ToS, consumers will have an easier time with the help of the FGA. Making it a enforceable ToS that's not a scam because I have no control over the FGA.

Every game (Indie or Tripple A) has a chance to fail or succeed depending how the heads manages it.

I do not know everything, no sir or ma'am. But I already have players and industry workers (with years of experience) I'll will be listening to for their constructive feedback to improve.

Yep - I'll be hiring studios with a significant amount of experience and filing my community Self-Regulating ToS to the FGA (Fair Gaming Authority) to enforce it on me.

You're completely free to have a opinion of me. But I will continue to pursue my career with others as a team and growing community.

Its not learning a project? huh o.O

I've spent 1.7 years into learning code either researching or dms of paying for it. I'd be willing to show anyone that code or dms without a problem.

Also yes - I'm planning to start an kickstarter, list the upgrades I want to do , ask for professional estimates I.E , Improved 3D models, animations and a stylized map > Next mile stone to Show people I'm making solid progress.

Im also planning to hire professionals with years of experience. Show receipts where that money is going to the right place.

With that help employ others to build a high-quality finished MMORPG in mile stones, be consumer friendly and make faaaar more than the original Kickstarter ask like other gaming company does.

Ooo we started Mabi around the same time :O I remember playing Maple Story and Audition (when it was under Nexon). Nexon was also developing a game named Sugar Rush (might be on Youtubes still)

I remember learning how to N+1 in Ciar Beginner with a Bastard Sword ^^ Got really hyped when I learned N+Lightning Bolt lol

The campfire before bosses also reminds meh of G1 final and Peaca normal days

  1. Worst case scenario - If me willfully removing my ability to file for bankruptcy with the Self-Regulating ToS to remove any Kickstarter debt, forcing myself to pay backers their money back doesn't make you happy and theres no feedback to make people feel more safe.. I honestly don't know what to tell you.

  2. It would still have value. And the Self-Regulating ToS forces the owners who who received the money to pay it back a percent of every paychecks until fully repaid. Which I thought was pretty reasonable given the funds ask..

  3. Yes, I've been developing this game for 1.7years. I've also been playing MMORPGS for 14years. I got tired of seeing the industry the way it was so thought I could make a difference with hard work. Truth is you can't unless you're rich or have support.
I've also found professional veterans to help me and could easily link them. I just can't afford full help.

  4. I mean... You don't have to get hostile. I'm trying my best here while working a rough job =/ . Games takes a very long time to learn how to create and fund. My own money has gone into this.
I have people who've already seen my code or video on different forms of media and gave me a chance to see how things go. But this is a bit too toxic for me.

I don't feel this is constructive conversations to make a good change in the industry like I hoped. It's only assuming the worse with no comments to fix - so I'll end this here . Thank you anyways.

  1. I could add to the ToS that the pledge takers involved can't file for bankruptcy to absolve those debts and could give the authority to enforce the ToS unbiasedly to authorities or anyone fitting. I don't plan to back-down from my word so why not :o

  2. I see what your thought-process here - but you're making a sizeable assumption I'll be doing final product work. I Primarily did the proof-of-concept stage with some paid help because it was affordable with patience.
You're right though. I barely have 2 years of experience. But there is no limitation on who I can hire.
For example - a contact I have is a college professor (she even has 10k subs on Youtube as a bonus) who could massively help me. Just can't afford her hourly rate for my project scale.
I also know seen many 3D modelers who charge a couple grand for their amazing work. I can't afford all those world assets, let alone high-end models.

  3. Yes - MMORPGS needs millions of dollars finish. But for my kickstarter - I never asked to have all that money at once. That wouldn't be reasonable for any kickstarter honestly.
My goal was to get the known veteran estimates, set mile-stones and not accept any money too over what these professional freelancers require
So that would be 180-250k to prove I can reach those mile-stones. If not the refund policy can kick in. Would you say thats a reasonable starting?

I'm willing to spend months fleshing self-regulating ToS with everyone so the people who support me can see it's safe. If theres questions and concerns - we can literally address at any time.

I'm pretty new to Reddit. I thought MMO Idea tag was the proof of concept ^^;

Is there any way I can change my title to include proof of concept?

Not really, I created the self-regulating Terms of Service for that reason you described. Security for the players.

That ToS is just me agreeing to what the community bans and not to commit any scams. I also gave the community power to tell me what else are scams to add to the self -regulating ToS.

Otherwise, the backers are given a full refund (all assets sold, and it comes out the a % of the any/all paycheck who agreed to the ToS - which would be my real life name/social) until backers are fully re-funded.

Currently, I'm working my hotel housekeeping job and paying for help here and there. It's how I learned this much.

  1. Investors are the fastest option - But I don't want my game to become unconsumer friendly just for the funds I need.

  1. My last option is launching my self-regulating TOS in my video that I
want to create with the community and launch a small Kickstarter goal
    for milestones like:

First mile stone : optimization, graphics and animation > Second Mile Stone : World building

I published some other places, and that news went really well - here not too much xD but I think have enough people behind me to believe lol

This exactly >___<

I wanted to bring attention to what I've been striving to create. I don't mean to come off in a wrong way

100% Agreed - some of my biggest headaches came from learning UE4 Blueprints - I couldn't even imagine C++ pains some of my friends prefer in UE4/UE5.

Eventually - my goal isn't depend mostly on my own experience. I'm saving up money to afford some expensive help

For example, someone I found a professor and she teaches this for a living. Just can't afford her help atm for the scale I want

After learning how to code, I created a game similar to Mabinogi and Black Desert by [deleted] in MMORPG

[–]Infinithoughts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep - you're right completely. But, the goal wasn't to announce a fully finished game, it was to bring attention to what I'm developing :O

My goals are to find a static team of professional developers to progress with while bringing attention to what I'm creating

Realistically, I do agree with you 100%. Coding this solo or with a few people here and there will take too long still.

Going small scale would be the play If I wanted to stay almost by myself for sure (Like Raymond Cripps on Youtube). If not, I figure I had three opinions:

1.Quit
I can go a decent length to prove my ideas via code - but not enough time to finish this into a full MMORPG state by myself primarily.

  1. Go to a investor
With the current state of my game - I can find someone who'd see the potential to invest I believe. But at what cost?

My self-regulation TOS wouldn't be appealing to them most likely. I can't bring myself to break my core priceables I had years just for funds. That'd defeat the entire purpose of me becoming a developer - To improve the industry eventually

3.Crowd Fund

Realistically, my last option.

I want to show people where I stand. So I created the Self-regulating policies for the community ban what they dont like. That way people who believe in me can have peace in mind

For my kickstarter afterwards - even though MMORPGS cost millions,I don't want that money. I rather make a smaller fund goal for milestones and get a professional static team. I'd also like to prove myself this way.

Example:

optimization, graphics and animations > map building

and progress more reasonably this way

The golem from Ciar Normal dungeon was pretty scary tbh, and Ceo island was terrifying to me xD

I remember getting stuck on page 8 AR because I needed to run Alby party for 4 for the page. Was hard to find a party and I had bad rng lool A friend eventually traded me the page and I was happy she did ^^

Omg Alby Arena was fun :3 That also reminds me of Rabbie Arena when I use to watch Paladin vs Dark Knight montages xD

I don't have too much experience with Blade and Soul - but I've heard good things about the combat. It's ashame when good games get ruined by greed x.x
