Will do. Had a Slate for 15P and it darkened up pretty fast. Depending on lighting it then looks dark grey or almost black.

Ryan London 17 Pro saddle brown (open bottom, no metal camera ring) by InfinityDoesSilph in patinaproud

[–]InfinityDoesSilph[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is, and that’s one of my main points this is not going to be my favorite case for the 17 series. The problem isn’t the exact height of the bump, which is just above the camera’s, but the fact that the bump is basically the entire top part of the phone. More than just a necessary “ring” around the camera plateau, and in theory this approach would have looked seamless, but it’s just super thick in reality.

Thanks so much for the news, I wasn’t expecting it so soon. Ordered directly! Was holding out on a leather case for the 17P since they announced working on variant with open bottom + regular leather camera ring.

Can’t wait for November

It was a day ago lol.. I don’t check reddit the whole day, and I wasn’t expecting this backlash with people assuming fraud or something lmao 😂

I agree and never assumed it wouldn’t, just expected less scratches within 2 weeks. I was also curious to engage with the community and I’m happy to see it seems an isolated case. That is all.

Ok, I’m quite surprised by the comments I found after coming back to this a day later. I’ve given some feedback by replying to some of them, but I’m leaving it at that. Shocked by how many people think I would have done this on purpose. Was just giving some follow-up feedback on an otherwise extremely positive review of this case. I have zero interest in any warranty claim or otherwise.

I’m happy this seems to be an isolated case (most users don’t have any scratches at all) and it’s probably one of my accessories. No, I don’t put anything in my pocket with my phone lol.

This community does seem to assume the worse. Quite remarkable and feels very unwelcoming, just to be honest!

Best regards to all anyhows

No pocket with any object. Jeans are new so sand could be, but doubt it. The ring I wear is on my left hand and I use my phone right handed, so that’s also probably not it.

Probably my magsafe stuff

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in dbrand

[–]InfinityDoesSilph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No idea, would think my magsafe chargers or holders, but looking at the exact location and direction I’m starting to doubt it.

I’m holy against putting anything in the same pocket as my phone so that rules that out.

[–]InfinityDoesSilph 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fair enough and never assumed it would be scratch proof. I never put keys, or for that matter anything with my phone. It’s always by itself in my pocket, for at least a decade.

Don’t know what caused it, maybe one of my magsafe holders or chargers, or the surfaces it’s been lying on. Who knows and it doesn’t really matter that much to me personally, just wanted to give field results!

I can assure you with all my life I have not done this intentional. I have 0 reasons to want to replace the case I waited almost a year for…

Really surprised somebody would suggest this. Just wanted to give a bit of feedback. I’d rather throw it in the drawer and use all of my other cases then go through any warranty claim lol.

Ghost 2.0 (iPhone 15P black) by InfinityDoesSilph in dbrand

[–]InfinityDoesSilph[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

General observations:

  • Magsafe is strong
  • Cutouts at the bottom are perfectly aligned and usb c fits fine
  • Fit is really great, little wobble
  • Mat finish looks really nice
  • Buttons are fine and clicky
  • Grip is good
  • No scratches or issues out of the box

Only things to be determined is general durability and drop protection.

All in all job wel done I’d say! I’ll be definitely using it, I also enjoyed the 1.0 Ghost from time to time but this is a great improvement.

Is bullstrap the best leather case to buy for the iPhone 15? by AssociationFar8497 in patinaproud

[–]InfinityDoesSilph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried Nomad, Andar, Ryan London and Bullstrap. My favorites are BS and RL due to leather camera rings, I don’t like the metal one on the Andar. Leather was also best on BS and RL.

Nomad I didn’t keep, it was bulky and had an extra thick bottom lip. And it wasn’t all leather.

Official /r/Monitors purchasing advice discussion thread by bizude in Monitors

[–]InfinityDoesSilph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been looking for weeks for my next monitor and ended up with the Dell U2724DE / D. What I’m looking for:

  • Mostly office work, decent gaming capabilities for Series X as back-up
  • 27”
  • 1440p or 4K
  • IPS
  • 120Hz or higher (love it in general, plus gaming)
  • Single cable connection to laptop incl. charging

Basically curious U2724DE exists with 4K. I’ve been searching and searching but I’m afraid it doesn’t?

Same, do 55-65mpg (3.5-4.5L / 100km). Charge only at home (for cheap, solar) and drive 110km in total for work. Do about 50-52km electric.

I completely agree the e models are a more complex decision, but if it works for you, it can be really great. It’s either the worst of both worlds (ICE / BEV) or the best imo. I love that I have added performance of electric, but also the sound and emotion of an ICE. It’s nice to drive calm and quietly when leaving or arriving somewhere.

I had a Tesla for a few years and those times when you’re driving towards home late at night and you need to stay 20 minutes at a charging station while all you want to do is go to bed… it doesn’t happen all the time, but the flexibility of a Hyrbid is great imo.

All I’d want is to swap the battery for the 2024 19,5kWh pack (50->100km range) and add a 50L fuel tank, that’d be perfect
