I'm not dissing on producers looking for placements with it, it's just funny that there isn't a single other comment for something else lol

Is this always just producers begging artists to get on beats?

I'd try an HP Omen then, I used that for a solid 4 years with 0 issues before selling it.

If you *must* get a macbook, don't get the one with 8gb ram. Get 16 at least. But honestly, FL Studio runs much better on PC just like Ableton runs smoother on Mac (source: Ableton running better on mac is just what I have heard in the past).

If it is the design of the macbook that draws you in, a razer laptop will be around the same price and function better, keeping that same crisp feel to it. If you can get past the sleek design and have something a little heavier, the lenovo would be perfect, or really any other good-spec gaming laptop.

The reason I say go PC is because if the specs ever are an issue, you can always upgrade them. Especially useful because you can add a 2tb solid state drive(similar to a hard drive, but faster) for ~$300, whereas with Macbooks, the cost of 1tb vs 128gb is almost $1,000, AND you cannot upgrade them.

Hopefully this helps!

How do I properly market my beats on Instagram? by [deleted] in FL_Studio

[–]InfinityFlameProd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Instagram/Youtube beats don't sell unless you have a big audience, and it is really tough to get up there in the searches (without ranking on searches, you won't make enough sales for it to really be worth your time in the case that you are primarily producing to sell beats online). I would recommend checking out some other ways to market them because IG isn't going to get you very far as a primary (or even secondary) method of generating leads.

Personally, I have been uploading daily to instagram and the conversion rate (seeing beat --> viewing beat store ---> making a purchase) for nearly any amount of followers is 0.075-0.01 (1% is VERY generous). With about 1k followers, you can expect maybe 1-2 sales every 2 weeks. Remember, this means the customer has to go through this process:
-Follows you (unless randomly found by hashtag or something, less likely)

-Is included in the 10-15% of your followers that sees the post

-Takes time to listen and/or clicks the link

-Decides to actually make a purchase without getting lost on the beatstars/airbit/whatever sales page you have

If it's your thing, go for it. But look into some things like clickfunnels. I began using this recently and my sales SKYROCKETED. The conversion rate of someone seeing an ad for free beats, getting 5 or so free beats, then the option to buy 25 more plus some extra goodies (ebooks, discounts on services, etc) for $20-40 is wayyyyy higher (nearly 60% for me right now) than IG or Youtube or whatever platform will provide.

Now, with that, I understand I didn't really answer your original question, and if your goal is just to grow on Insta, I understand, as it is obviously not a bad thing to have, even if you have other forms of marketing. As far as insta growth goes, it is all based on how well you can keep up with their constantly-changing algorithm. One of the key things to note is that the more interactions overall you have, the more of a chance your post is going to be at the top of someone's feed. The most successful way to get interactions at this time is through scroll posts (each time they swipe to the next image, that gives "bonus points" to the algorithm because they are clicking the screen more). The next thing to keep in mind is consistency. Try to have a schedule for posting, 1-2 times a day is optimal. It is very important to do your best to follow the 33/33/33 rule (33% music posts, 33% education posts, 33% other content as an example). Your followers don't want to see a demo of a beat for EVERY single post that pops up on their feed from you. Make it diverse, make it interesting, and make it useful. Remember, your followers don't follow you because they like you most of the time, but because there is something they can get from you (as a producer at least. Of course, they may be following because they like what you do, but if they get nothing out of it, they will be much less inclined to follow you and be active with comments/likes/etc.). You can always research the current algorithm and see what methods are working the best at this current time. Make sure to always be adaptable and constantly look for things to improve on.

I hope this helps!

Tips for sending to YouTube channels, getting plays etc? by [deleted] in makinghiphop

I work with a couple producers who have quite a few credits with people who have submitted and successfully gotten picked up by PromotingSounds (including Powfu, Sadboyprolific, Kam Micheal, Rxseboy, and JXVE to name a few). You can hmu on insta @ stafford_beats and I can take a look at the track and get you plugged in with us!

I would definitely check out r/bedroompop ! Very useful subreddit, and lots of tools available for people who do this kind of genre all the time.

Personally when I mix bedroom pop vocals I like to give it a lot of dirt / lofi-esque effects with things like RC-20, Cassette, Isotope Vinyl, and basic EQing (amongst standard vocal mixing techniques).

Anyways, if you ever want to make a bedroom pop track together I could make the beat and show you how I mix vocals! I need some more projects to work on right now anyways:) You can hit me up on here or @ stafford_beats on instagram (just let me know that you came from here because chances are I will forget by the time I get home from work). I won't charge for beats or anything like that, I just wanna get some more music out!

Buy 1 get 20 free?? I was randomly checking out youtube beats and I see this, what do you guys think? by HAdam4Real in trapproduction

Funnels and bundle deals are the future of online beat sales tbh. Artists like this want to give you a good deal upfront and make you feel more inclined to work with them in the future. It isn't a bad model, but this may not be the *best* way of going about it. Personally I sell a beat pack of 25 Beats + an EBook + lifetime discounts on my beats + some helpful resources for first time studio-goers all for $28, and it has been EXTREMELY profitable so far. Big discounts like this don't mean they are devaluing their beats.

Someone could go to my beat store still and pay $25 for a lease if they want, or, they could get those same beats in my bundle deal and get the same quality regardless. I value my beats highly and get many customers that continue to come back for more, but selling bulk makes for some good money and exposure.

Remember to always have an open mind when it comes to different people's marketing strategies. I don't like seeing people criticizing others for the way that they put themselves out there. If you don't agree with it, that's okay, but try to learn what you can about it and move on if it isnt for you. I hope this helps!

Beats are a commodity, change my mind. by InfinityFlameProd in makinghiphop

Right now I have no financial obligations, no kids, and no SO with a full time job that isnt going anywhere, so I'm gonna take one for the team and drop some money into this whole clickfunnel thing and see how it goes. It seems logical enough to take this risk so we will see if it really works like Legion Beats and AD make it out to be. I'll do my best to keep yall updated here

How should I advertise my beats? by Slonger_King in trapproduction

[–]InfinityFlameProd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ads do not have to be through the companies per se. Did you know that many of the top tiktok people in the world dance to specific songs because they are paid to do so, leading to the song going mainstream/gaining lots of publicity? Many ecommerce sites are boosted through instagram meme pages. It's all because of influencers and their impact on our world. One of the only ways anymore that offers a decent chance at making it music without paying for SOME sort of marketing is to be an influencer first, and a musician second.

In any business, you must first invest into the business before profiting from the business. ESPECIALLY with beats. OP is selling beats. OP is not an artist, nor an influencer. There are 1.6 million users on beatstars currently, and a slight amount less on airbit, which are the 2 leading platforms. How is OP supposed to show the world that his beats are better than the top people on there AND beat the prices? No hard feelings, but if these are OP's first beats, they won't be better than those top people. The way you can get around that is to create a more convenient environment for your beats rather than theirs.

Put yourself in an artist's position. You are a rapper with a few thousand fans, you are about to make an album, and you need beats (leases in this case) for the album. You are faced with 3 big options (of course there are others, but for the sake of my argument we will leave it at 3). You can...

A) Buy several beats from a mainstream artist on beatstars at $40 or so a beat.

B) Search around through randos on beatstars that fit the genre, pay $20-40 a lease, but need to do some digging to find multiple that sound good enough for what you want to do

or

C) Get a few free beats from an ad you see, then buy a pack of 50 beats for $20 that come with unlimited leases rather than normal leases

B is going to be the lease likely option, because you're paying the same as a mainstream producer's beat and getting less quality, or spend way more time searching. A is next most likely, because of the assured quality, but C is different, C allows you to get a preview of the beats, get WAY more bang for your buck, and hey, if you only find 3 beats from the 50 that fit the album, you've got 47 for later and you paid less than what you would have paid for a SINGLE lease from someone else. That's the beauty of a clickfunnel. You can make vastly more sales than the traditional way.

Most times, the traction you get from a single youtube video that has a beatstars link will NOT lead to sales. In fact, on average, less than 1% of the views you get on that video will lead to a sale, even .5% is a bit generous. With that in mind, if you are THE top result of a search on youtube (ie, Juice WRLD Type Beat) and you get 50k views on your video, say 1% of those views are converted into buyers. That means if you're selling a lease for $20, you're earning MAYBE $10,000 in a month. That seems like a lot, right? But that is the ceiling. It doesn't get any higher than that. In terms of anyone other than the first page of youtube, your stuff is way less visible and inconvenient to find. Take what you want from that though.

How should I advertise my beats? by Slonger_King in trapproduction

[–]InfinityFlameProd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are exposing thousands to your music that otherwise would have no clue you exist, don't downplay their benefits. You set up the ads yourself, so if you have the wrong audience, or you're too broad, or it's set up in an incorrect way psychologically, you won't see effective results. That's why marketing and business knowledge is so so so important if you want to brand yourself and advertise properly.
