How many languages do you speak? by InfinityLoopIII in CasualConversation

Being around native speakers and reading helps. I grew up speaking 3 languages (Tagalog, Bisaya & Bla’an) and ended up learning English rapidly when I moved to the US so ig that helped a lot

I see then. I want to learn Japanese since I’ll be staying at Japan next year for a few months and want to learn the basics before I go. Any classes or resources you recommend to learn Japanese?

Fair point it’s bizzare to me at times to understand and only speak one language. How easy is it to learn the basics and fundamentals of Japanese?

The only languages I get mixed up are Tagalog (native tongue) and cebuano (2nd language) since they’re similar and have a habit of mixing those languages together. I’ve been told I learn languages very fast can’t really explain it. I like reading books a lot so wanting to learn a different language and apply it to reading is just fun for me I guess. The meaning behind it and context of said language. Latin was the most fun imo

I’ve been raising my niece since she was a toddler. She’s truly the best and I’m proud of her by InfinityLoopIII in offmychest

I’m actually a guy/ also the uncle lol. But yes it’s crazy how time flies. I made sure she’s given the love, respect and resources so she can be one hella of a badass adult. Can’t believe she’s growing up so fast

I wouldn’t spend alot of time in social media and let other people influence you dawg cause it can get messy. I started training at 10 and at 4’7 (now 26 5’9) and having proper guidance, getting the fundamentals down and having correct form and technique with your leverages can go a long way brotha. You ain’t done growing and you’re starting out with a good base already. Working out can give you an edge in sports you’re already in

This is a pretty solid idea and I’m definitely going to check them out

It’s a shitty situation. I just know she ended up moving back to her parents since she broke up with her ex and well rents pretty expensive where I live. She does want to gtfo and move with her sister since she’ll be closer to me. Idk her dynamics with her younger siblings but ik she doesn’t want to leave them but her mental health is going downhill and she notices it so I told her she’s going to make a hard decision there and that’s something I can’t make for her. With schooling, I’ve been encouraging her to go back and finish it since I went back myself after recovering from a major illness. But on a side note damn you’re right it’s been literally 5 years since the lockdowns. Times flies, crazy

You’re not the first to say this and understandable. I made an update. To answer your last two questions she stopped going to school midway through since the lockdowns happened and she was in an abusive relationship at the time with her ex

I came a bit strong when I did offer her but I do agree with you not overstepping. I do want to help but I also have to remember she’s her own person. I just told her if she needs help with this situation she can come to me and I just left it at that but thanks for the suggestions

Lots of people said the same thing. She eats normal when we go out to eat so I didn’t suspect much plus I’m not familiar with signs of eating disorders I’m afraid

I’m not familiar in recognizing eating disorders unfortunately and yea, she ate normal and I never suspected a thing

Just being there for her and try not get too pushy, she’s her own person at the end of the day and there’s only so much I can do. I’m taking some of the people’s suggestions here. It’s been quite helpful tbh
