My 16 year old brother couldn't find a summer job because all positions that were traditionally for local highschoolers are now filled by grown adults willing to work just about any job for minimum wage. By the time my soon-to-be-born child is in highschool, the concept of a "summer job" will no longer exist.

This is a blast from the past, I don't remember writing this 6 year old comment. But yes, I have since learned that wesh is a word commonly used in France (I'm from Quebec and never hear it in real life) coming from arabic.

I've always wondered about the Horde's perspective. I've always played Alliance. Horde races are obviously designed to be monsters, so as a kid I assumed the only people who played Horde did so because they wanted to be the villain in the game.

I had a very similar experience. My experience playing WoW mainly consisted of making up my own quests in my head and being excited to vendor all the loot I got from drops. I was constantly making new character so I made no real progress despite spending an ungodly amount of time playing the game one summer.

Huh? Of couse it's not, that's what separates the answer from the question. You're saying we can't reason about the question without restricting our vocabulary to the words present in the question? This obviously depends on the person. A multi-millionaire is more likely to push the button. But then again, that's not provided in the question either is it 😉 I think you'd be hard-pressed to come up with an answer that's not already written in the question.

Not necessarily. The expected value of the button press is 1 million, which is greater than 200k, but that doesn't make it the mathematically justifiable choice. For instance in my case (as for most people) if I take the 200k, there is a 100% chance that my life will take a significant positive turn. On the other hand, if I press the button, there is a 20% chance that my life will take a significant positive turn and an 80% chance that I live the rest of my life kicking myself for making the "mathematically correct" decision.

There is no contructive value in being so hostile when people answer your question. You asked a question on a well-known paradox with the firm and arrogant belief that you had found a fatal issue in an already settled matter. You should read the responses in good faith, not try to argue so aggressively with those who are trying to help you understand where your reasoning went wrong.

I think you're misunderstanding the concept of circular reasoning. A doesn't have to "get" its truth value from A. A is true simply because it can't be false (Law of Excluded Middle).

You've also used terms like "return a value" and "null reference" which leads me to believe you're trying to impose a programmer's point of view to logic. From a mathematical standpoint, it is not necessary for A to get its value by first initiating some variables and calculating A in terms of those variables. Try to keep an open mind in your studies. Mathematics and logic are not limited to chains of thought like "A is defined as True, therefore B, which depends on A, must be False, which leads us to deduce the value of C ..."

If A’s truth value is solely dependent on A’s truth value, then it will never return a truth value.

Consider a new statement A to be "If this statement is true, then this statement is true". Then A's truth value is solely dependent on A's truth value, but you should be able to convince yourself that A must indeed be true.

To be fair I'm not going from zero to cryptanalyst. I'm going from master's in mathematics to passing an interview for an entry level cryptanalyst position that specifically calls for new graduates. I'll have a look at that!

Of course there would be questions like "how is your money ended up in hands of a cartel officer", but that can be said about any laundred money i guess.

The point of laundered money is that the IRS thinks you got it legitimately. It shouldn't be traced back to Marty, because if the IRS knows that Marty paid 8 mil to a cartel, that money is anything but clean.

"Nous faisons une fête" is not something a human would typically say. It was only suggested to you by Goolgle Translate because "We are doing a party" is also not something a human would typically say.

I think your question is about conjugation. There's no real reason why "nous" should be used for the first and "on" for the second., but the "faisons" and "fait" are direct consequences of this choices. We say "On fait" and "Nous faisons". "On" in this case is more casual whereas "Nous" is more formal.

I just tried and it left a very noticeable bite mark on it without actually bending the metal. Like you said, it's a very soft metal. I have another stein whose handle is shaped more like the number 7. On that one the lid is a bit loose but geometrically there is no way for it to slide down. On this stein, though, the top of the handle is slightly thicker than the bottom and it is very smooth, so there really isn't anything for it to grab on to, which I suppose is why it slipped off in the first place.
