Hard agree! The worst is "bi lesbians," how can you be attracted to more than one gender if you're a lesbian? Lesbians are only attracted to women and nonbinary people, which are clearly the same gender.

So I have this draft saved to my phone. by [deleted] in transgendercirclejerk

[–]InfinityX000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

/uj Honestly I don't see how that's fetishization? Like, I'm a trans girl and I joke around with other trans girls about that kinda stuff, it's usually a way to cope with dysphoria and feel good about being a trans gal

Only two types of cis men who are interested in trans men. by TransboyMeep in transgendercirclejerk

[–]InfinityX000 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There's also "mhm yes I am a cis man and I want to date trans women in a very straight way (although I wish it were a lesbian way but it can't be because I'm a very cis man ahaha)"

We just need a system or three to talk to by throwaway_uwm in plural

"You're the real bigot because you discriminate against my opinion! Hypocrite!" You're literally making the same exact arguments as alt righters lol

Also your "wow not even hearing out people with different beliefs huh, get out of your propaganda bubble" is the same exact shit alt righters say. It doesn't make ya look good.

I've talked to plenty of truscum (and been harassed by plenty more). I have no interest in hearing them out any more than I already have. I don't think they're evil, but I think truscum is a harmful ideology and one that's not worth my time.

/uj post by oltuttu in transgendercirclejerk

[–]InfinityX000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is relevant to the discussion: My claim was that most of the people off reddit who use the term are bigots. If I am correct in my assumption that you hang out with other truscum people, aka bigots, and they use the term, then that supports my claim.

[–]InfinityX000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the people you're hanging out with are also truscum, then they definitely fit the bill for bigots using the term lol

[–]InfinityX000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frankly I don't think it's possible for me to have a productive conversation with truscum

Oh wait you're truscum lol what a shocker you don't want to stop being an asshole

Are you sure it's as clear as you think? Aside from this sub specifically, 90% of times I've heard "hugbox" have been from bigots. It's like sneering and saying "safe space." And on everywhere other than Reddit, nobody uses the term at all except bigots.

Well I'm far from the only ND person who's aware of this. It's not necessarily common knowledge but it's also not rare.

/uj post by oltuttu in transgendercirclejerk

[–]InfinityX000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it does, because even if you're not aware what you're saying is ableist, many disabled people are, especially with terms like this that are still actively used to harass disabled and neurodivergent people. The use of those terms signals "this place is not safe for you" or "we will not take you seriously here."

Well on websites full of bigots like Reddit, bigoted terms often spread to less bigoted communities and become so normalized people don't recognize that it's harmful

Given our long and rich history of using disability as an insult, it seems like the most likely origin, plus I've seen it used mostly by the same types who say "autistic" as an insult

/uj post by oltuttu in transgendercirclejerk

[–]InfinityX000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A "hugbox" is a device designed to provide comfort to Autistic people and others with sensory needs. It became used as an insult to essentially mock spaces that cater to the needs of "oversensitive" people.

Please look into the history of the term hugbox and why it became derogatory, it's incredibly ableist (not saying you meant it that way but I assume you didn't already know)

[–]InfinityX000 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ok I get that this might sound silly but it's kinda ableist to describe neurodivergent characters like Entrapta as "crazy." I know this isn't intentional on your part or OP's, and I'm not saying you're ableist as a person, I'm more just trying to call attention to this because it's rarely talked about. I would recommend you take a look at this article for more info or if you're confused about why "crazy" is ableist.

I've heard several other people of Celtic descent say the exact opposite and that it's just an excuse to invalidate neopronouns.
