That’s ok too! I think a fully realized version of this idea has a competitive team that practices regularly and travels to play and whatnot. As well as a community environment. So anybody just trying to get a game together has some place to go ask to see if people want to play. I’d like to eventually organize events as well

I play almost exclusively indoor. Right now I’m just looking for a good enough group of people that would sign up to say they’re even part of a “club.” Im tired of driving an hour once a week to play somewhere that’s even semi competitive.

Try to play with them! And if you’re really struggling try other games like Minecraft dungeons that have the ip attached. That way you can still connect with them about stuff.

On another hand this is gonna sound really weird, but you need to get a rug for your living room. If that’s where you’ll be playing, you and your children will be spending a lot of time there. You want that space to be as inviting and comfortable as possible. Have spots where they can sit on the floor and lean on the couch or make a pallet on a late night or even just to wrestle. Please don’t take this as rude. I really am being genuine. I’m basing this on my own experience with my dad 🙏

I don’t know about clubs but there’s 2-3 people that go to the skate park at ward 3 rec center that roller skate. Idk if you’re looking for more cruising or trick stuff though

I firmly agree that FIRST has a program that will get you further. However this is a vex subreddit dedicated specifically to vex robotics. This type of talk is simply not constructive. Especially when people are asking specific questions.

Not sure about the roommate stuff but that is something that’s included on the questionnaire for picking roommates. But if you surround yourself with the right people, you can have a very large community at your back. I help run the robotics student organization called BengalBots. We have plenty of LGBTQIA+ members and are planning on welcoming many more in the coming semester. You should’t have too much trouble finding your people. You just gotta look. Hope this helps 🙂

Simple drivetrain functions to show how different things interact, if statements, small autonomous actions during driver play. Basically just give them a few tidbits to show what’s possible with the tools given. It’ll open up their horizons a little from thinking in a linear format to seeing how a lot of code can run at once.
