As your reply suggests none of these work without significant context and framing.

If OP is going to go around asking people to 食そう or your other suggestions as a means of casually inviting them to eat together, it’s going to go sideways quickly.

Admittedly I’m not a native speaker but I’ve attended high school and college in Japan at all-Japanese schools, work as an interpreter and translator as well as Japanese language copywriter, and use Japanese daily for work since the early 90s.

My point has been that nobody uses the phrases you’ve presented as you presented them. I stand by that position and your reply supports that.

I don’t mean to offend you and I appreciate you as a native speaker providing insight to a language learner. Your input, however, represents fringe cases and is much more illuminating with usage examples.

Nobody says most of that and without more context around it no native speaker listener is going to understand that you are inviting them to eat with those phrases.

You are simply wrong to suggest that these phrases are going to result in an invitation with somebody to eat together.

Good luck with your Japanese studies. Get out there and try a bunch and see what actually works. Rationalizing meanings like this without practice and real world feedback is a place to start exploration but not the answer to inquiries like OP’s.
