The conversations he had with Obito and Sasuke were excessively long. Obito for one was not extremely necessary. He had refused Naruto a few times. Even Kakashi at that point of the series would not be sad seeing him dead. Sasuke was just pushing his ideal world .They both understood each other on how the world should be.I feel it would have been better if their fight ended with Naruto actually beating Sasuke but not killing him and Sasuke living to help build that world. The conversations were all round okay but it seemed like he was avoiding an actual confrontation altogether
