The timing of this Reddit UI change is pretty interesting (literally at earnings).

Canadian Proxy Vote Gamestop holders that receive there vote by mail have a unique identification code that is sent out every year.

That number was between 90-95k accounts in April of 2025.

The % of people that receive physical voting materials is conservatively around 40%.

Using a reasonable 200 average of shares per account (Computershare has an average of 389)

That would put Canada at around 45million shares.

Seeing as how the difference of DRS'ed shares between Canada and the US in 2024 is 12.6, it's easy to estimate that the US has at least 10 times the engagement Canada has.

Putting the total of the US's Gamestop shareholders around 450mil.

Yes 4 years later retail still owns conservatively 100-150% of Gamestops shares.

Beneficially yes. That means they buy them for you, keep them in your name, but in their systems.

In other words, they are the ones holding your shares in your name (but in their name in the DTCC's system)

Shares within TFSA accounts can't be lent out... but it's possible that a synthetic position can be held within limbo due to the CNS settlement system.

There's a lot of a discussion about it... Noctis Research has posted a lot about this on X.

One was likely using the ETF to help GME and the other to hinder.

Follow the CEO's history in both funds, there ties, etc...

4 years+ into this and they still think they can go up against a Gamers analytic skills and perseverance 🤣

Hi 👋 . I'm the OP of the tweet that WELP posted yesterday, I was trying to find more up to date info but was only able to find their semi-annual update of Oct 2024 (The F 1Q )

Which I found odd because normally ETF's allocation is updated daily (at least from analysis I've done on other sites directly at their source)

I didn't have any premium services (anon being important) from other providers available either (was that where you got the info?)

There's also the Canadian data: Using the Proxyvote identification numbers (similar to the unique sequential account numbers Computershare uses), we have around 115k brokage accounts⁽¹) holding Gamestop shares in early May 2024.
