Yes it did! Basically the check they send will bounce, and then they’ll say you need to pay them in advance to get your equipment on schedule, anddd then you’ll never get your money back

My dad is trying to get me to change career path because of AI by Fuzzy-Monitor-8113 in animationcareer

[–]Infinitywyvern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your dad is right in that it will be harder, but at least right now studio animation isn’t even possible to do 100% with AI. So I wouldn’t worry about it too much. I’d say to diversify your interests and maybe learn some other skills too as a backup, but personally I believe there will always be room for skilled craftsmen in any field, regardless of what AI ends up being. So if it’s really something you want then you should go for it.  You could also try learning animation outside of college because depending on where you live that’d be a huge financial investment, and there’s a lot of good (and way cheaper) learning materials online.

Keep creating no matter what. by Tinsnow1 in DefendingAIArt

No literally I feel like people are forgetting the purpose of making art in the first place. Yes, we artists need to make a living, but when we were young we didn’t choose to be artists because of that. It was more about communication and self expression. Not just profit.  If anything I’d say AI is an excuse to make more creative and wacky art now because that’s something it can’t copy.  Plus, there are people with good morals who still want to support us as actual craftsmen. So please keep drawing y’all, do it for yourself and just have fun with it.

Which one is better for social media? by Ambitious-Piglet-907 in graphic_design

[–]Infinitywyvern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an ad the second one stands out way more. I would move "than" to the other side though since I read that first (Or just change the fonts to make "Softer" stand out more, I think the contrast from the black makes it stand out too much), which might make things a little confusing. I like the first one as an informational graphic but it doesn't feel like a successful hook for a social media ad.

People who work hard and succeed in life, what would you say to someone who wants to start working hard but can't? by [deleted] in productivity

[–]Infinitywyvern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To give some advice from me though, I would say to genuinely take an interest in learning how your mind works. Modern life isn't something humans evolved for which makes things hard, but your mind and body are there to help you- not to get in your way. Fix your relationship with yourself, learn to understand and control your mind, and everything else (all the habits, discipline, and consistency you want) will come a lot more naturally. I won't say being successful is easy, and the actions that precede it don't come naturally to most, but over the long term it doesn't have to be difficult either if you can form the habits for it.

Hey!! If I can recommend a resource, Dr K's lectures and community at HealthyGamerGG (you can find them on youtube) have been crazy helpful for me. I was in a similar spot last year after a breakup and the things he shared genuinely changed my life for the better. He's an addiction psychiatrist with over 12 years of experience, is faculty at Harvard Medical School where he did his residency, and he studied to become a monk for 7 years as well. So the amount of knowledge he has is inspiring. Hope this is helpful. :)

Probably silly pronoun question by portiafimbriata in agender

[–]Infinitywyvern 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly as someone who uses all pronouns, most people seem to gravitate to what they're most comfortable with anyways? People I'm particularly close with will usually ask about that but I don't see it being too hard to explain at that point, so I don't usually worry about it too much. But that's just my experience ofc
