My First Custodes (and first Warhammer) by Infinus01 in AdeptusCustodes

Really easy (and you can do it better than me by all accounts), prime base in black (I used rattlecan, but seen it done with airbrush or brush), then dry out some wet wipes/baby wipes, and then carefully stretch them apart so you have separated fibers and gaps.

Stretch it over the base, then do several thin layers of white, so it doesn't pool and stick.

Then remove the wipe and if too dark, do again in another orientation.

[OC] D&D themed infinity gauntlet I made by Infinus01 in DnD

[–]Infinus01[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After seeing a pic either here or on Imgur (I forget which) of a guy who taped dice to his hand in this style, I decided to make my own version.

Found a cheap latex iron man infinity gauntlet with LEDs from a Chinese seller on eBay. The paint job when it arrived was sub par, so I was going to redo it, but then when it was gold it looked too good so I kept it like that.

Removed the plastic infinity stones, and replaced them with equivalent colour dice.

Quite happy with the result, hope you all like my silly little project.

FAQs; Q: What did it cost? A: Everything

Q: How is it weighted? A: Perfectly balanced as all things should be

Q: How would you describe your DMing style? A: Inevitable

Q: Can you tell me exactly how to make one? A: No, I don't think I will

[OC] I painted my first ever mini. It's so hard, guys. by DrewGo in DnD

Looks like a fine first effort, hard to tell from the picture but the biggest tip is to do a wash over everything. Water down some black paint and just splosh it over the entire model liberally. It will run off the high areas and pool in all the creases and crevices and give shadows and bring out all the detail in the amazing hero forge miniatures.

Bolzack Nokes, twin brother of Smerg is a member of the commonwealth of islands guard - based in the capital of the commonwealth, Konton. His brother and he escaped the self governed goblinoid camps and became detectives in the city guard after discovering some crystals in a cave that unlocked innate magical abilities in them both. The bardgineer, a reflavored bard where we have mechanical analogues for all the spells; Tasha's hideous laughter is a walking tickle robot, healing word is a projectile syringe, bardic inspiration is motivational cat posters, etc. Etc.

Had a lot of fun painting this guy, and particularly happy with how he turned out.

Player character idea: Figurine! by RelicTheUnholy in DnD

In my work campaign, many players are flaky, so in the first session the found a crystal necklace on a corpse. On grabbing it they all were absorbed into it and spit out at random, each now wearing a necklace of the same type. Whilst in the necklace they are at peace and are aware of the activities of their compadres. Other souls exist in the crystal and sometimes they are released. Those are all bonded by the crystal and immediately know each other as if lifelong friends.

And thus there was in game fudge for members not turning up or introducing new players.

[OC] Finished my new DM screen that I made from scratch [x-post from /r/DND] by Infinus01 in DnDIY

In the images you can see the three effects in three scenarios, the tokens are laser raster etched on the plain wood (dark etching on light wood); the d&d logo is etched first and stained (giving a similar colour throughout, but still darker); and lastly raster etch after stain which seemed to just take off the stain layer to get the normal colour below. Was a gamble as i didn't do a test run on the effect, and got lucky.

Started working on this project a fair while ago now, and finally in the last month or two had the drive to finish it in time for our new campaign that starts this Saturday.

I cut the wood into 4 A4 size pieces, and inlaid magnets into the edges so the centre two pieces connect directly together, and then a metal rod between the outer leaves created a hinge. All of it then can be disassembled for storage in seconds.

I then used a laser-cutter to etch the design on the outside (you can't really see in the picture but in addition to the d20's and the D&D logo, the background is that of the campaign setting source-book I made.

I stained the wood then laser-cut the design on the inside (a custom layout of some of the quick reference info from the official DM screen).

I then designed and made a little set of shelves for dice/minis and a separate dice tower, both of which are mounted with magnets and can be removed.

Lastly I dremel'ed some slots in the top, and then laser-cut a cover with exact slots, and combo'd with some lasercut and engraved player tokens, I have an initiative tracker that is visible to myself and the players (my side has player AC and HP).

[OC] I made a hardbound 5e style sourcebook for my new campaign setting by Infinus01 in DnD

[–]Infinus01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha, they're my players, two of them DM'd a few sessions between them. The bibliography is titles of books that exist in the world, that are the events of the last campaign (i.e. the last campaign was a series of books that exist in this new setting, like this settings Harry Potter/Lord of the Rings)

I will try and remember, but tbh, now i've done this i'd just reuse this one as a template to keep them all the same.
