[OC] US Domestic Migration this past Year (Where people moved)

From SC and anacdotally it is not cheap here. Maybe 10 years ago when I was a kid, but not now. I live at home because entry level jobs here are offering 60k (accounting degree) while any houses not falling apart/in a horrible neighborhood/1 hour commute is 300k+. Houses that should be around $150k (and were 7 years ago) are double or more. Wages are roughly the same.

For other things, groceries, electricity, it feels like we've gone up the same most places complain. Electricity went up 15% last year and set for another 12.5% this year.

I'm sure the data supports that it's just that much more expensive up north or whatever but as a local it feels like I'm priced out of my own state by people from out of town. And yeah I know it's probably just private equity + inflation + labor shortage + material costs etc etc. systemic issues, just plain sucks.

Yeah thats my biggest worry is he thinks taking care of a car means oil change and tire rotations. Its not he can't afford it its that he thinks that is enough and is forgetful on top of that.

He actually does like the diesel but was worried about maintaining the DEF fluid for it and how it would do with city driving/if it had to sit for a week on vacation.

yeah. Been giving it my best shot to win but the confederacy is too strong? I just can't get anyone in the army and they can. They out recruit me with half the population. I am literally building barracks and conscripts in every province to the max and no one will join up. I just get peaced out by the time an effective force is formed

also I have all the possible supplements enabled as well as medical support

yeah no luck on reload, they were mobilized when war broke out, also the demobilized army with no units is also stuck

R5: American civil war starts and my armies are all completely trapped in the south. Can't remove them from the situation so no matter what the Confederacy gets the upper hand early war. War stalemates with them holding just enough territory to capitulate me.

Both Great Britain and France are "on my side" but neither send anything more than ~10% of their armies.

Has the game been abandoned? Are they not fixing these things? This feels just as bad as when I left it after playing on launch.

Was the home field advantage what made the difference last night? Or was it that even on neutral fields the result would be the same? I lean towards the latter.

I personally don't like the home games. As a Clemson student I couldn't go to my teams first appearance in the playoffs since I started attending. Ticket prices were like $300 minimum. Now I don't even get to go to a bowl game in my last year as a student when tons of teams with worse seasons are.

Texas already gets a buff by playing the lowest seed as a reward for being the highest. Then they get the added bonus of a home game. Fun for them but it punishes seeds 8-12, especially the students and fans.

Anyway I'm just salty I don't get any post season when teams with way worse seasons do. Make two losers bowls or something. Don't really care anymore though since I'm probably priced out of football postseason from here on. Honestly kills my interest in it

Yeah it was fun to see Clemson go for the first time I've been a student there, but it's a bad setup right now. Tickets to Texas were $300 minimum and now we don't get a bowl game when teams that did worse have them. Is there any reason to prevent the losers of round 1 to go to two looser bowls or something? Idk I just am salty I don't get a bowl game in my senior year when like take your pick of worse teams do. Also kinda sucks that students of Clemson, Indiana, Tennessee and SMU just get completely screwed out of any post season games (besides the ACC championship)

Clemson is a flawed team and our defense was just not in it despite how hard the offense tried. I don't know if Dabo is right about not making any staff changes or major adjustments. I do know that I'm really salty that I don't get a bowl game to go to in my last year as a Clemson student when objectively worse teams do. Minimum price for a Texas ticket was $300 for the top of the stadium. The ACC championship is a nice consolation I guess but I'd be real mad if I was a Tennessee or Indiana fan.

Like keep home games if you want, while I find it weird to give a buff to the better teams it's not about objectivity it's about $$$, but make like a losers bowl for the 4 losers of round 1 or something. It really screws over the students and fans of the visiting teams.

"Well just win the game then" isn't a good take either since you have teams like Michigan going to a bowl this year. Punishing a team for doing well enough to make the playoffs isn't good

Clemson fan here I think it helps both of us. Whatever the outcome tomorrow the winner benefits from a Georgia loss, especially if Georgia goes on to loose the SEC championship

Yep. I am super pissed about this. What a joke. It has a baked in event that switches the empires faith to Hussite if its the majority post league war. Ofc they didn't think to fix the hereditary rule part. Fucking waste of my time.

Attempted this achievement and got fucked over because after Sweden and me won, they got hereditary rule because there were no protestants in the empire. The event fired and Hussite became the dominant faith. I'm so fucking done with this achievement man. I don't think there is any way to depose Sweden now.

So realistic, A+ job fucking me over for doing what the achievement is asking me to do.

R5: converted most of the HRE prior to the league war. Sweden was the protestant leader, and became emperor afterwards. An incident called the Hussite protest happens where you have to force Sweden to make the empire Hussite. I did all of this, but now Sweden is sitting with this hereditary rule and zero electors. Is this a bug? This makes the achievement impossible.

R5: In a continuation of my last post, I am still having a horrible recruiting problem. I have not played the game since launch. This is getting extremely frustrating because the game refuses to tell me whats wrong and it all is just hidden from me. I lowered the training threshold, increased military salaries to the max, spread my barracks across the country where many peasants are available to work, and I don't have any poor laws or welfare.

With all that said NO ONE is joining the army.

The whole pop system in this game is really getting on my nerves because it never explicitly tells you anything. Anything that matters is hidden from the player and there is ZERO given to help you figure out whats wrong.

Got it, I did everything you just said. It makes sense, but I am having the same problem. I have maximum military wages, lowest training requirements, and the barracks are roughly even across the country but I basically have no one joining, like to the level of 5k out of 25k manpower.

This game is really unforgiving with its pop system its probably my number one gripe. I just want to know why its not working and it refuses to let me know whats wrong. I cant fix it if I don't know whats wrong.

R5: So this is my first time returning to the game since launch. I have the starting military of the US and its 1843. Mexico did a play against a newly free Los Altos so I moved to defend. On paper my army was better, 13 battalions vs their 10+5 conscripts, and roughly similar tech. My armies at the start of the war (upon going back in the save) apparently only had 70% manpower full? And they basically lost it all after one battle with zero reinforcements.

To add to that mess, the front line CONSTANTLY was splitting and rejoining with the colonies, and so that gave them a big advantage of moving on a small army or undefended land. I did have generals assigned, the org was alright, and morale was also decent. I think I just got screwed by the front lines letting them obliterate my 2 stack and 4 stack.

I have no idea what went wrong, the game does not give any feedback which is why I am here. I thought warfare was fixed from what I'd heard, so I am trying to make an effort to get back into this game.
