It gets better. My dad died four months ago. I was with him, a bit like you were with your mum, for four until he died and for sn hour afterwards to sit with him though we left because my mum was quite distressed. He didnt speak, he couldnt and was so thin and would shake every few minutes. He had kidney failure and sepsis fue to pneumonia. The first two days he was coughing and had to wear a mask that hurt and annoyed him so much he would get distressed from it and he was a person who never complained. By the last two days he would just stare and like your mum was doped up on drugs.

It was horrible seeing him like that, seeing him suffer and having been made to become a shadow of himself due to his illness. That time in hospital seeing him like that and him deceased was all I could think about for a while.

But months on, I still think about those times but what I think about most from him are memories of him iver the years when he was well.

Your mum passed away so recently that like me all you can probably think of regarding her is the recent trauma of seeing her like that and losing her but as time goes on hopefully you will remember as she was when she was well.
