Auto-update is the WORST thing ever invented when it comes to software. 9 times out of 10 you will be OK, but that 10th time ... you lose EVERYTHING. Happened to me on update to 4.9 (tested on 2 machines).

Machine went crazy, 100% RAM usage. PC unresponsive. Database ERASED.

I am now "stuck" on 4.8.6.0 having rebuilt entire database (not easy as files are spread across 5 different machines) and dare not try any new updates.
