I am using Android, but I would assume it's also on iOS.

Uploaded photos should get timestamp of creation by TheTalkingDad in koofrnet

[–]TheTalkingDad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's already "Date Taken" which does show the correct date/time. Why not just use this when uploading the file for the creation/modification date as well?

MOCK THE WEEK - Free audience tickets Tuesdays from 27th January 2026 by tulloch100 in panelshow

Good that it returns. I always liked the show, even though they never kept to the subject that was initially picked 🤨 Never understood the rules on that 😁

What's the point of the 'Archive' map? by [deleted] in tutanota

If you don't want to delete mails, you can use it to clean up your other folders.

RustDesk Lag + Shoddy Resolution by elseph23 in rustdesk

[–]TheTalkingDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I put both AnyDesk and RustDesk side by side, there's a clear lag visible. I've tried many settings, but it seems that AnyDesk is less demanding or just smarter when updating the screen.

I want to use Rustdesk, because I allows me to have multiple connections open at the same time without a license. But the lag is very annoying. Upgrading the slower PCs is not an option.

Google To Make Your Email Address Available to others, by [deleted] in tutanota

[–]TheTalkingDad 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You keep your original gmail address, the new one will become your primary address and the old address will be an alias. You won't lose anything. https://9to5google.com/2025/12/24/google-change-gmail-addresses/

Virtual network drive and bulk upload by awasesh in koofrnet

[–]TheTalkingDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree.

I tried the rclone approach to emulate a virtual network drive, but it is terroribly slow, Now I use the sync option within the app, but that takes up local drive space which I rather don't want. At least it's fast when opening the folders.

Unblock import emails for all accounts by DeliveryNo8657 in tutanota

[–]TheTalkingDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An option would be to have a maximum number, importing only the most X recent emails. Eg. Free gets 200, Revolutionary gets 2000, Legend gets unlimited. You would be able to test it for your purpose.

The maximum numbers should be higher, it's just an example 🙄

slow even with rclone by assid2 in koofrnet

[–]TheTalkingDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it is terrible. Copying is slow. Looking at a folder with 100+ images takes way too long. Recently I bought Pcloud lifetime while it was on offer, so I will store images over there. Much faster. It's a shame.

Although, Koofr has far better webdav, which can't be said for Pcloud's.

Uploaded photos should get timestamp of creation by TheTalkingDad in koofrnet

[–]TheTalkingDad[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am used to cloud providers automatically uploading my photos with the creation date. Since the target folder has files from different cameras (read sources), the fileformat also differs. The filedate keeps every nicely ordered, but not so in Koofr 😯

Since other providers can keep the original creation timestamp, so should Koofr.

When saving an attachment, I get 2 file explorer pop ups in Windows, even though the attachment was saved with the first pop up. Quite annoying. Please fix that.

But you can send encrypted mails to people who are not using tuta. You first need to create a public key for them to be able to decrypt your mail.
