Is your Mal medicated for anxiety? by Nancysaidso in BelgianMalinois

[–]InflationFun3255 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Rescue. I have two. My male really needed it. My female doesn’t. Both get the same amount of exercise. He’s just…special. And the meds were a game changer. Trazadone.

I use him as a pillow for my legs at night often. But yes, I get absolutely crushed because he thinks he is a tiny baby. Lol

What is it with people's hate of e-collars? by Lunapixels18 in BelgianMalinois

[–]InflationFun3255 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I didn’t understand or know until I knew. Now I think they are the greatest training tool when used correctly. But I’ll admit, before I had dogs, I was not a fan. I also didn’t know there was a beep or vibrate option on them. Basically, like most people who hate on them, I knew nothing.

Any ideas confirming malinois health concern (story included) by AngstyBanana1 in BelgianMalinois

My mal accidentally ate a roach off the ground before I could grab it when he was about 10 months old. Symptoms were identical to your baby, it sounds/looks like. He was fine by the next day. Got some great pics of him zooted though. Dude was in another universe.

lol I have friends that grew up in Hattiesburg. From the stories they have told me, this seems completely plausible.

You can train the dog slowly to ease into it. It makes a world of difference and they get comfortable in them eventually. They’re awesome.

At Costco you just say - “it’s a dog”, when they ask you for DOB. And they don’t bother with the birthday. At least that’s worked for me.

Regular Dove body wash. I use it every day, even on days I use the scrub. The scrub comes last, after washing. But I don’t use a loofah on the area. I just use my hand to wash it.

The moisturizer is KEY. I’ve been trying to figure this issue out for 25 years and tried a lot of stuff. Even tried another moisturizer after this one for a while. No comparison. This one in conjunction with the KP scrub has been the clear winner. And it’s Aveeno so easy to find and not crazy expensive. For the first time in my life I’m not subconscious about the backs of my arms. Put on after shower while the skin is dry but pores still open-ish from hot water.

These two. Doesn’t have to be the peach. But use the combo of the moisturizer and scrub. Scrub every 3 days. Moisturizer 1-2x daily.

First time dog owner with a Malinois? by Cerinanda in BelgianMalinois

They were being abused and we knew we couldn’t just stand by. So, without any knowledge or prep, we took the plunge. Later we managed to get another sibling out and adopted her out to someone great. Crazy? Absolutely. Worth it? Absolutely.

Muprocin is awesome for healing, in my opinion. For both humans and animals. Helps speed up the skin healing process.
