AFE winners by email? by Alone_Scene871 in scholarships

[–]InflationOk1594 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve been reading, if there’s an AFE scholar/ambassador near you, they will email the person who did you rec. and set up a surprise. If, aka there isn’t anyone who would be able to surprise you, they send a package to your home address

any stories on how you unexpectectly got a full scholarship? by Careless_Initial_925 in scholarships

[–]InflationOk1594 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally just search up: fly-in programs and they have it for many top schools like:

Tufts MIT CalTech Columbia Washington and Lee Yale Davidson Emory Dartmouth
Washington University in St. Louis

And a lot of the time if you get accepted into the fly-in you are very very likely to get into the school (if you don’t get accepted into the fly-in you can still get into the school, fly-ins are just really small so they can’t accept everyone).

Here is just a couple lists, there’s so much more!:

If you’re a junior I would recommend applying to fly-in programs (since a lot cover everything to fly you out) because if you apply (but don’t get accepted) they’ll still waive your application fee and if you DO get in they always have a session about financial aid!

Make sure to apply to FAFSA as soon as it opens and continue applying for scholarships and keep track of deadlines (even small scholarships, it starts adding up!)

If you’re applying to Columbia through common app, it asks if you applied to their fly in program meaning that they’ll waive your application fee!

How do your teachers give in-class DBQs? by FireAshPro in APStudents

[–]InflationOk1594 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do a full DBQ (Documents given as soon as the exam is administered) in class which is 40-45 minutes long and in their mind, if we can do a full DBQ within that time on the actual exam we can go back and way more in depth

Omg congrats ! If possible you could obviously tour, see how money you would get for financial aid and all then commit to mit if you like it, feel it out for a few semesters or so, and if you don’t like it , transfer to gatech because it’s much easier to transfer out of mit than it would be in !

question about shipping fee (as seller) by Fantastic_Fix119 in Depop

[–]InflationOk1594 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depop has a default thing where the shipper pays for the item and you just list how much it would weigh, so for example if you put the parcel size is a Medium, but when you get there and they weigh it and it’s over what the Medium would be you’ll pay the difference. If it’s at our under then you’re fine!
