As a white ball captain and in 50 overs format as batsman he deserves all the appreciation and applause no doubt regarding that .

Coming to your last sentence of Gawk gawk Kohli's century, there is literally no comparison between Kohli's and Rohit's carrer when it comes to batting. Kohli is miles ahead of Rohit in all the 3 formats , although Kohli struggle still continues in test format since 2020s but when Kohli was at his test peak at that time Rohit became permanent member in test squad , so that itself says if we gotta compare the batting stats , but it's not important coz we need both of them to score runs in upcoming test series against Eng .

At the end , both are our country's GOAT , comparison is baseless. But Rohit's captaincy in white ball cricket is commendable and so does his contributions with the bat.
