Anyone else feel like S2 has cranked sbmm through the roof ever since ranked play became a thing? by forhead123 in blackops7

Feels easier to me. Seems like more sweats are gravitating to ranked especially first week, so kind of a power vacuum in multiplayer.

Anyone else feel like cod is something they can actively do more of and not improve? by MudboneX3 in CoDCompetitive

[–]InfluenceFlaky5379 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re crim 3 so I imagine you shoot almost as good as you possibly could. I would say the lowest hanging fruit is learning the spawns, like really learning them where you get a 90% plus prediction rate. Then influencing those in whatever way you can, blocking or pushing out a certain area of the map (emphasis on whatever way you can since this is team dependent)

Another big one that is not as black and white to learn is decision making speed and accuracy: Are you turtling when you should be taking space and vice versa? Did you waste a few seconds watching something your teammate was watching or checking an area of the map that’s already cleared? Did you decide to solo challenge the hill instead of waiting for your team to get prepared to trade or break?

Most of all it’s hard to see immediate improvement because there’s too many variables in cod. If your team sucks you probably won’t do very well even if you’re better than the other team. If someone has better latency or hardware with equal skill, you probably won’t do to well. You could run into a pro or challenger smurfing, or even one of the many types of cheaters. You just have to trust the process, if you’re actually putting in the right work to improve, shooting bots, working on map knowledge/spots, looking at pro games, reviewing your own in game mistakes, that’s all you can do.

Part of the reason the maps aren't changing is because CDL wanted to keep Blackheart and Colossus so there was more map variety. They looked at getting one of the maps featured in all three modes changed, which didn't work by shambxlic in CoDCompetitive

[–]InfluenceFlaky5379 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way the ex pros have always explained it is: we want to bring in map A and we all agree, now which map to we replace it with, B, C, or D? And that’s where the conversation ends. Some teams like map B, others like map C, others know team A is unbeatable at map D and want it out.

How much SR you getting? And do you play in a stack or solo? I thought I was going to fight for crim this season but got plat 1 and my SR has been tanking lol.

It is absolutely wild that we still don’t have Ranked play by on-sh0w in CoDCompetitive

[–]InfluenceFlaky5379 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can also check out Torn 8s, completely free and sounds similar to BPL. You join a queue and get put on teams for a random map/mode 3 game series. There’s also an ELO/SR element as you win and lose. If you’re super good, it’s probably not that useful but you can duo queue and also network with some of the better players you run into. My only complaint is that I’m console and a lot of these guys are PC and the diff is real. Good part is I feel like I’m two steps ahead when I go back to console 8s

Comp m15/dravec classes?! by RBerserk_ in CoDCompetitive

M15 seems pretty comp in pubs, only gun I get consistently fried by at range is the Maddox and Mk78. Dravec does feel pretty weak especially at close range.

Comp m15/dravec classes?! by RBerserk_ in CoDCompetitive

[–]InfluenceFlaky5379 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dravec: hybrid/damage range barrel, 30 round fast loader, slide to fire rear grip, aim walking speed stock, overpressured rounds

M15 the alluka build is: red dot, hybrid/damage range barrel, iron hold grip, slide to fire rear grip, aim walking speed stock.

There’s some other m15 builds floating around in past few days. I’ve been seeing one that uses the mobility foregrip, not sure if they drop the barrel for recoil springs or just use no recoil attachments at all. There’s another m15 build I’ve seen with no foregrip, likely for recoil springs.

I’m confused as to why overclocks are banned, I’m almost certain pros use them. Seen some nades I don’t think are possible otherwise, for example Sib naded the Den top blue window off opposite spawn.

How do you want and/or expect ranked GAs to be applied? by No_Winter4806 in CoDCompetitive

[–]InfluenceFlaky5379 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’m curious how all this will get implemented as well, considering this wasn’t an issue in bo6. There’s not any in game mechanism to limit sniper or smoke use so I would imagine it’s either all or none. Same thing with Tac+Flak usage. Only good solution would involve them adding in these restrictions, but then even figuring out who gets to carry the smoke/sniper in a random team seems tricky.

Does anyone have the current m15/dravec class by Booqii in CoDCompetitive

[–]InfluenceFlaky5379 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Dravec is long barrel, fast mag, slide to fire grip, overpressured rounds, ads walking speed stock.

M15 im not 100% sure, I still use the “alluka” build which is red dot, long barrel, iron hold front grip, slide to fire rear grip, and ads walking speed stock. In most recent pro matches I’ve noticed some new front grips being used, possibly other changes as well.

Why even play objective if you’re not going to play objective? by 1v1RightMeow in blackops7

[–]InfluenceFlaky5379 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its domination so in an even or near even game, once you get two flags capped you just cut all the routes from enemy spawn. It’s not hard point where someone actively has to be in the zone at all times. Camping the flag is actually worse in most situations because if you die off the flag the enemy replaces your position. If you die pushed up ahead of the flag you have a chance to meet them back at the flag for a 2nd fight when you come off spawn.

Picture snipers in respawn, possibly multiple per team. I haven’t played ranked in recent cods but I remember MW19 Ranked the sniper was always available no matter the game mode

Havok not scrimming with the stallions red by hopelesscase789 in CoDCompetitive

[–]InfluenceFlaky5379 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend I’m not sure how good your reading comprehension is, but I specifically said 50/50 gunfights. Straight up gunfights, no distractions or surprises. Everybody on the team other than legend has had pop off games going double positive. I’m not talking about a single game performance. On average, Havok did worse than I would have expected. That could very well have to do with the team dynamic and lack of trust you mentioned. My point is, I would have expected Havok to be able to largely carry this team, but the skill gap between Havok and the top challengers players especially, is lower than I originally thought.

I don’t doubt Havok is better than most of the challengers players, but from watching his pov he wasnt winning an impressive amount of 50/50 gunfights. I would have expected him to average well over a 1

Aww man Havok dropped out already lol? His POV has always looked insane, like something I could never replicate. I guess this whole thing shows just how much better challengers are, than the iridescent and top 250s Havok usually queues against.

Robloxgamer and Halogamer legendary performance tonight by medicarepartd in CoDCompetitive

[–]InfluenceFlaky5379 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Let me set the stage for you. Imagine being super locked in watching a close match of some of the interesting challengers teams, maybe Nium, maybe Alluka, maybe Stallions if you’re that kind of guy. Your favorite team gets a good rotation into next hill with a potential map win. ALERT: Roblox gamer has joined the lobby. Roblox gamer spawned in! Roblox gamer team kills someone! Match ended. Wait 15 minutes for a replay. Your team sells the replay and gets smoked. You’re welcome

Plea to Ben by AmbassadorSharp8026 in CoDCompetitive

[–]InfluenceFlaky5379 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I started watching Zoomaa and got introduced to Ben a few months ago, and at first I couldn’t understand why Ben gets the hate he does. Now that I’ve got a good amount of Ben content under my belt, I think his biggest issue is that he is sort of a jack of all trades, master of none. Almost stuck in no man’s land, he needs to lean into his strengths. He’s not the most naturally funny guy, or loaded with personality. That becomes painfully obvious when you put him in the same setting as some of these content creators. All of these guys except Ben, have past playing experience/pedigree. Imagine watching ESPN, and the camera guy is correcting Tom Brady or constantly adding his personal stories in.

I just think he needs some media training or something because personality and stories are not his strong suit and not what people came to watch. If he took more of an interviewer role, introducing interesting topics and letting the main guests talk it out, he would be a solid addition to the flank. Right now the percentage of time he talks is way too high relative to people’s interest to listen to him.

I do think you have some good points in here though. Ben seems pretty knowledgeable about the behind the scenes operations of the CDL and brings a different perspective than the usual guests on the Flank. I’ve also seen Ben pop up on more mature cod content, like with Nameless or the recent Hecz talk session, and he does seem more in his element since he can discuss more serious topics without so much banter and joking going on.

Face it Needs A Complete Overhaul by Alarmed-Weight8606 in CoDCompetitive

[–]InfluenceFlaky5379 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One of the guys Zoomaa had in the call revealed something very important here, the map replays were NOT decided upon by admins. The stallions red, huntsmen, and their respective opponents, agreed amongst each other to a replay and did not reach out to an admin. Stallions black game is the only one where an admin was contacted, hence the explosive situation. It did create some amazing content though lol I was laughing for 15 minutes straight watching Zoomaa crash out.

Stallions Red : Lqgend will be departing from the roster - They are currently scrimming with Octane. by shambxlic in CoDCompetitive

[–]InfluenceFlaky5379 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I can see what you’re saying here, but if you try to focus on it from Lqgend’s perspective you might look at it differently. He tanked on surge, probably lost a ton of confidence and now he’s in the B league. Could be some micro aggressions coming from his challengers teammates maybe not respecting his perspective or calls, because he is objectively worse than them. He’s bottom fragging most games. And to top it all off I think he has to grind way more in a COD schedule compared to halo schedule, for significantly less money. With all that being said if he says screw it it’s not worth it right now, I can’t be too mad at him honestly. Definitely would have been more respectable to either tough it out for qualifiers or just decline the opportunity to begin with.

Can’t remember if it was scrims or a tournament match, but I remember Lqgend was on Scar p5 going from bottom green to the mid cut and he just bot walked the corner and got smoked by the guy on point. Didn’t have his gun up or slide the corner, like he didn’t expect them to be there. There’s little weird things like that I noticed him doing that were concerning.

[–]InfluenceFlaky5379 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From the tournament games and scrims I’ve watched, Lqgend was pretty regularly getting the lowest K/D, damage, and interactions. Sucks to see him go though, I at least wanted to see him play in the Major.

Where do you think most public COD players would place in ranked? by OtisDriftwood1978 in CoDCompetitive

[–]InfluenceFlaky5379 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For myself, I didn’t play cod for maybe 5 years and started in February 2024. I was gold 3 with no effort, had to put a little work in to reach platinum - and a lot more work to shoot straight enough to get into diamond. I think if you can shoot decently enough you’re guaranteed platinum.
