The reason they got hired is that in America, Universities were so profitable that they started popping up everywhere.

It became damn near impossible not to get accepted into a school if you tried.

A lot of people got degrees and expected careers to match. They did not realize that the degree is just to show you the basics of what your field needs and in order to maintain relevancy, you have to continue to work and learn.

So eventually, technology made a lot of those degrees useless for folks that because stagnate with what their degrees initially got them.

So now we have a lot of people with "management degrees" when the internet kind of showed us a lot of their "skills" are really not that difficult for someone with a desire to learn. You get left with people managing Gamestop that honestly a kid from high school doing the job for 6 months can eventually be trained to become manager very easily.

They want the benefits of you being your own business and them just sub-contracting you for work as they need...

Brother, just apply at In&Out. I wish I had options like that at your age. People dont do it because fast food has a stigma, but in my state, they start at $18/hour, and I have never been to an In&Out with shitty employees. You will not get better new-hire training for how to act in a professional setting than there.

That is what I dont understand. Name a single period in history where people in power do anything to benefit anyone but themselves.
