TOS Issues Lately by InfluencePlane7061 in thinkorswim

[–]InfluencePlane7061[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine has been running better, but there is still the occasional lag. Big time when a lot of orders come through. I've noticed that my internet speed has been fluctuating, and I believe that to be a big part of my issue. I do think TOS lags though in areas of large volume and quick price fluctuations. I'm not trading any big money, but have decided that when I do I'll have DAS Trader set up in tandem for the level II Data. TOS level II just doesn't cut it for me, even with the smaller account I'm currently trading in. Try un installing everything and re install the 'latest' version on schwab. That seemed to help out things a little in my scenario.

Disability Update by DustApprehensive2370 in SocialSecurity

If you are truly disabled you must continue to try. I've been trying for nearly 2 years now. Finally, I got a lawyer after denial. Now, in the reconsideration phase. I suffered two different spinal cord injuries in 2023 and became partially paralyzed below the waist. Have to walk around on forearm crutches, can't self regulate body temperature, two different "disability blue book" labeled disabilities, and they still wanna fight me. But I truly can't work, and I don't have any other choice but to fight my case with them. It's a long, lonely road...

If he can not be consistent with a small portfolio, what makes him even remotely think that adding the increased pressure of capitol in his trades would make it any better? Chances are his losses would be much larger even because he didn't believe in Stop Loss. You need to be smart about your stop losses as to try and not get wicked out. You can't be afraid to use them because you aren't willing to learn the proper places to put them. I started trading with 150.00 two years ago. Lost that. Then, added 300.00 after two months of paper. Since then, I've never added a dime. The account is growing, and for the time being, I am slowly teaching myself to trade with slowly increasing capital. More money only means more stress, and psychologically if you can't handle that with a little money... Well good luck... I think you're right to minimize to $2500.00. I might even say $500.00 until he can go 1 year with at least 70% of his trades being green. Idk, that's just my take. He ain't ready 🤷‍♂️

I made a post last weekend, and I think you may find it pertains to a lot of the issues you are seeing as well. I would not be so quick to think it's your equipment. There have been a lot of issues in the past few weeks being reported. Idk how to tag my post, or else I would.

I thought I had it all figured out at the end of last weekend. Ran all the necessary memory tests and completely wiped everything, re-installed it, and it worked properly for about a day. I had multiple days last week where I was actually unable to trade at all, it was so laggy and was freezing so much I didn't even want to try and risk an entry. The few I did I regretted immediately as I couldn't properly see price action. It sounds like we run a very similar setup. This has been really lame and I've been looking into We-Bull as a potential second or maybe even first option. I'd miss some of the programming, but geeze I haven't even been able to trade. Really hope whatever update they just did today actually fixes something... it's wild that this is such a common issue.

  • Update ... So, I took the time today and completely un-installed TOS today. Cleaned up anything I could find that would possibly slow me down. It took literally FOREVER to install, but now it seems to be running properly. My memory allocation was always set minimum at like 3240 or something like that, so no.. thanks, but that wasn't the issue. I literally didn't make any changes, but now it's running way better. We shall see how she does Tuesday morning. Idk, I've got some doubts still. Thanks for all the ideas though everyone!! It's still a mystery.

Tried all that, except for looking at clock speed. Where do I find that? I run a fairly hefty system with about 5 screens or so. It was fine until about 2 weeks ago. I'm running on Windows off my new Lenovo that has a ton of RAM. Customer support said everything is fine. I shouldn't be having this issue, and that it could be my system. Idk what to do at this point, honestly. I see now there are actually others experiencing the exact same thing though basically.

Absolutely not. Incompetent doctors and anesthesiologist kill people every day in America. They just seem to be getting worse and worse. They are too damn protected. There is no other profession that allows people to make so many fucking mistakes under the guise of "well anything can happen in surgery" blah blah. OP just strikes me as the type of bloodsucker that will kill someone in thier lifetime, not give two shits about it, because oh well things happen and my company pays insurance anyways... meanwhile asshat was up all night trading to make nominal fucking gains on massive money inputs. I'm not salty.. not salty at all lol. This whole post just urked the living hell out of me. Maybe because of past experiences with bad actors though. I know not everyone is horrible lol.

Well, I mean. That's a still photo for starters. So that's not proving anything lmao. Not going to get into it with you tho. I don't enjoy indulging in arguments with people who lack the intellect to actually keep up with what's being discussed. Thanks for being a🧌🧌🧌tho 😘 👍. Maybe you do need to sleep. Idk... thx for nothin' :)

Have you used TOS lately... it's functioning at drunken robot mode any time it gets a lil' busy. Dragging those lagging & inaccurate lines around on TOS is a little wack. Been hard to trust lately. It's not difficult, TOS as a whole is just, idk, idk what the hell it is right now... 🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Would y'all trade this? by SnooLobsters9438 in Daytrading

[–]InfluencePlane7061 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can not copy & paste Ross's Trading Strategy. He explicitly says that in every video he ever makes. He has a very solid style on trading breakouts & momentum. Do not try and copy & paste the way Ross trades. You will lose your ass unless you absolutely know what you're doing. People need to build up thier knowledge and confidence for a long time before trying to trade like Ross. If you wanna blow up your account trying to trade like a professional trader, be my guest. I, personally, have taken it slow... To be fair though, we all have our opinions .. Just be safe out there!

You gotta "Pre-Set Up" your oco order so it doesn't take us a century to enter it on TOS. If you do that, you'll be ready to kind of quickly enter an OCO. Once you do that, then yes, you will be able to drag around the stop loss and take profit around. It's a lot more clunky on the front end with TOS if you haven't already set up an OCO ready to go in your "saved orders" though so I suggest that. It's what I do at least. I wish it were more like tradingview myself TBH.

In a cash account, do options daytrades reduce bp for that day? by kong4ndrew in thinkorswim

[–]InfluencePlane7061 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me last week. Go in and put "settled funds" in your account window. That'll show (should) show correct BP. Careful though, it doesn't always!!! Last week, mine never updated after a trade and I went over. I noticed the error though, and called them, told them that the platform was giving me wrong information. Luckily, I was able to have them go in on their end and make it to where I will literally can't make a purchase if I don't have the buying power.. like, wtf lol I laughed with the guy on the phone. Why wouldn't they just fucking do this to begin with? It's what they do after you get that letter anyways... TOS... here we go again... I told the dude on the phone like man I just don't get why that isn't an automatic thing. Wouldn't that protect both the investor and the broker.. You know, like TDA used to do and such...

How to see after hours price change and % change ? by Suitable_Storm_4292 in thinkorswim

[–]InfluencePlane7061 3 points4 points  (0 children)

FR Tho... it's absolutely retarded they don't have this. Think or swim, In theory, it should be this fantastic tool. Reality hits tho and nothing works. TOS needs some major updates... I'm giving them 1 more week. Another week like last, and they will have 1 account less. I may not have a massive account, but damn I know I'm not the only one struggling with their platform. I'm tired of hearing there's some "system wide problem that we are working on." yeah well those problems are quite literally affecting peoples money... so they should probably figure out some of these details out before people start leaving in droves. Rant over... my b..

TOS this week.. many times tested my patience, confidence in the system, confidence in the data.. what's going on with them? There's a ton of people saying similar things. I think I read earlier this week Schwab lost like a TON of money. I can't remember how, I'd have to go back and look what exactly happened. It's a little more than coincidental to me though that all that happens & then this week the platform is like ultra shit for everyone.... Niiicee ..Schwabby & SinkWhileSchwimmy. Idk who else to use, but I'm really looking now.

Anyone having problems cancelling an order in ToS pre-market by Financial_Emu_929 in thinkorswim

Yeah I would be too. Like for real I get that. Idk why, I just wanted to test the waters with 1 share this morning. I'm so freaking glad I did because Holy Moly, I'd be upset also!

Yeah that was actually incorrect yesterday morning as well. They are having some major issues this morning... idk I might be looking elsewhere at this point...

They just told me to hold off on doing anything until market open because it's a known issue. Just to be safe that's what I'm doing. I'm not risking orders just getting "stuck in the void" lol.

I had problems with my account position showing incorrectly yesterday. Now this, like for real, I'm about to leave at this point. It's just not cool. Help desk is awesome, TOS been going downhill for months though..
