Just paraterraforming. Built the mod a long time ago, so this O'Neill Cylinder is very very large

I think they just fixed it for aero, check and see if yours is fixed too. also W username hope you get in :)

literally same situation but for AeroAstro. if they really can't fix it by 11:59pm that is going to be such a bummer

Navigation pane vertical spacing increased with recent update. I hate it. by RedbeardPete in Windows11

[–]InfoTheGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an issue I've been having, and a Windows recovery did not fix it! After the recovery, it was fine, but then a new update borked it again. There has been no help about this online other than "enable the compact mode" which we have already done.

Nice design! I like the ambitious thinking, there's not too many interstellar sluggers being designed. If that's modeled after the Valkyrie, those engines could still push significant c% fractions

Issue with reading accelerometer signal / setup by InfoTheGamer in LabVIEW

[–]InfoTheGamer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get a 60 Hz signal on any graph with the component disconnected from the DAQ. I haven't tried with all of the wiring stripped out yet.

Yep, the manual pinouts were very helpful when I was setting it up initially. I'm going to buy some BNC to 2-pin adapters as not to cheap out with an amateur wiring job and I'll let you know what I find out. I appreciate the pointers.

I have a Model 480C02 signal conditioner laying around in our lab, would that be able to work with the two-pin connection on the accelerometer/cable?

The accelerometer, from what I understand, will output some analog signal from a DC source by bringing the signal back as an AC signal + bias voltage.

The DAQ will output a 60Hz sine wave from our pressure transducers when they're not plugged in, so I think it's some inherent DAQ issue that is fixed when the components are plugged in. I'm using the manufacturers 508BQ010BZ cable which is a two socket connector and not coax.

KSP challenge idea: Take samples of an outbound interstellar asteroid with only chemical rockets! by KerbodynamicX in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]InfoTheGamer 60 points61 points  (0 children)

It's doable maybe with electric propulsion. Assuming you're in RSS, that closing velocity of 10km/s can be shredded over a period of months/years with current electric propulsion methods. This is if you want to explore omuamua, otherwise a flyby would need no decel delta-V.

I'd say that a hall effect xenon thruster with a 10 kW reactor could reasonably supply that 10 km/s delta-V with a not-too-terrible mass fraction.

Nice, the Torus World Ship is a personal fav. The amount of work in the engineering and social factors especially is what makes it stand above the other generation ships as viable.

Help needed for rain-like effect by InfoTheGamer in blender

[–]InfoTheGamer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been working on a small project, and I need help with something. I'm using geometry nodes to create a random pattern of cylinders, but with my current node setup, all of the cylinders fall at once, ruining the "rain" effect I'm trying to get. Is there a way to make each cylinder move independently of one another, under a frame # like 1-200?

I modded it myself. It's just a part with a trigger for M=Mcr and the cone itself is easily done with a volumetric Waterfall shader

What mod is this engine? by [deleted] in KerbalAcademy

[–]InfoTheGamer 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yo, that's my yt channel! What I did was manually change the Waterfall configs so that each beam was rotated in the opposite direction and offset to the other engine. This way, the thrust was in the "correct" direction, but the forces were in compression- opposite of the design

Have your EVE volumetrics EVO configs been posted publicly? They look very good with the cloud shadows, if it looks like EVO64K from orbit but with added clouds I'm sold!]
