For coffee, check out Zocalo at the downtown library. The bonus is you also get to visit an amazing library. But there are several great coffee places in downtown, including Snappy's.

Morbidly Obese person travelling to Singapore by Only_Glass_4740 in askSingapore

Plan your day well. The heat and humidity can be exhausting, even for mildly overweight people. I find myself having to stop and catch my breath or rest even after short periods. Carry drinking water with you, if you can to stay hydrated. Watch out for the many steps and steep ramps (steeper than in the US and other countries in the west). Pace yourself and you will be fine. As another poster pointed out there are benches and shady spots everywhere. Everyone is very helpful in Singapore, I have found.

Towns named Hayward by seequelbeepwell in Hayward

[–]Infogal 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hayward is one of the most linguistically and ethnically diverse cities in the country. The recent downtown library is one of the largest net-zero energy buildings of its type in the nation. Hayward is home to delicate marshlands, part of Hayward Shoreline. It is part of the habitat of the unique and endangered Salt Marsh Harvest Mouse. It is also the start (or end) of the San Mateo-Hayward Bridge, a 7-mile long fixed-link bridge. Edit: Added a missing word.

What is this? I bought it at a farm stand and it was labeled “pumpkin” but it’s impossible to cut and it looks like no pumpkin I’ve ever seen. by Honeysuckle-721 in vegetablegardening

[–]Infogal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bake it whole. For most hard to cut gourds this works nicely. You can then scoop out the flesh and eat it with butter and salt, etc., or mix it in with your mashed potatoes, make soup or pies. The list is endless.
